Premier League Predictions Gameweek 35: Northwest derby in focus

After a weekend that saw Arsenal reclaim top spot, given Man City‘s FA Cup responsibilities, and Tottenham achieve their first win this calendar year, 10 more Premier League fixtures take place Friday through Monday.

Man Utd host Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday, Arsenal entertain Fulham on Saturday evening, and Man City visit Everton in the Early May bank holiday 8:00pm kick-off.

Leeds vs Burnley – Friday 1st May – 8:00pm

Leeds host already-relegated Burnley, who sit dead last in the annual table following Scott Parker’s departure by mutual consent. Leeds, unbeaten in their last five league outings and six points above the drop zone, will want to pull further adrift and finish the season strong. Expect the hosts to dominate and take all three points.

Prediction: Leeds 2-0 Burnley (11/ with BOYLE Sports)

Brentford vs West Ham – Saturday 2nd May – 3:00pm

The Bees take on the Hammers in a clash between two teams who’ve been difficult to separate this side of the New Year. West Ham’s form has dramatically improved in their bid for survival, while Brentford are winless in their last six. With both sides scoring 21 and conceding 20, a score draw feels the most likely outcome.

Prediction: Brentford 1-1 West Ham (13/2 with BOYLE Sports)

Wolves vs Sunderland – Saturday 2nd May – 3:00pm

Sunderland visit Molineux hoping to recover from two defeats that have seen them ship nine goals. The Black Cats have managed just five wins from their last 16, while Wolves have even fewer victories this year with just three, and handed Spurs their first win of 2026 last weekend. Expect a tight contest, with the away team edging it.

Prediction: Wolves 0-1 Sunderland (13/2 with BOYLE Sports)

Newcastle vs Brighton – Saturday 2nd May – 3:00pm

Eddie Howe’s side are trying to end a five-game winless run, but visiting Brighton will have other plans. Newcastle have looked like a relegation team in 2026, in contrast to the Seagulls, who are the division’s best side over the last five matches, hammering Chelsea 3-0 and edging a 2-1 win over Liverpool. You also can’t underestimate the extra rest Fabian Hurzeler’s side have had at this stage of the season.

Prediction: Newcastle 0-2 Brighton (12/1 with BOYLE Sports)

Arsenal vs Fulham – Saturday 2nd May – 5:30pm

Arsenal got the job done against Newcastle last weekend but looked nervy while doing so, suggesting their emotionally-fueled title push could see them slip up at some point. Fulham took the game to Villa last Saturday and were rewarded with all three points, and if they bring the same energy in the evening slot, they could cause problems for the hosts. Still, Arsenal look set to get the job done.

Prediction: Arsenal 2-1 Fulham (15/2 with BOYLE Sports)

Bournemouth vs Crystal Palace – Sunday 3rd May – 2:00pm

Bournemouth have been electric since Christmas, and even the imminent departure of Andoni Iraola hasn’t slowed their momentum. Crystal Palace secured a promising 3-1 Europa Conference League semi-final first-leg win over Shakhtar Donetsk on Thursday, but that game could have sapped the energy they’ll need to compete with the Cherries. Expect Bournemouth to edge it.

Prediction: Bournemouth 2-1 Palace (7/1 with BOYLE Sports)

Man Utd vs Liverpool – Sunday 3rd May – 3:30pm

Man Utd have lost just once in their last six meetings with Liverpool and already beat the Reds at Anfield this season. Under Carrick, they’ve also taken scalps off City, Arsenal, and Villa, making the hosts appealing. Liverpool have won their last three but haven’t been convincing. Bruno’s form against Salah’s could be the difference in one of the most competitive Northwest derbies in years.

Prediction: Man Utd 2-1 Liverpool (8/1 with BOYLE Sports)

Aston Villa vs Tottenham – Sunday 3rd May – 7:00pm

Spurs’ latest “cup final” comes at Villa Park, where the next five days could be season-defining for the hosts. Although they’ve had a mixed run of form for a good couple of months, they’ve already beaten Tottenham twice this season and with the visitors managing only one win this entire calendar year last weekend at Wolves, it’s difficult to look past a home win.

Prediction: Aston Villa 2-1 Tottenham (15/2 with BOYLE Sports)

Chelsea vs Nottingham Forest – Monday 4th May – 3:00pm

Even amid the civil unrest in the Chelsea camp, Calum McFarlane has provided a calming influence during his brief stints in charge. The Blues weren’t at their best when booking a place in the FA Cup final last weekend, but they still looked a class above the side that Brighton slipped three past. Forest have managed European and domestic duties well under Vitor Pereira, and as one of the division’s in-form teams, these two could end up cancelling each other out.

Prediction: Chelsea 1-1 Nottingham Forest (7/1 with BOYLE Sports)

Everton vs Man City – Monday 4th May – 8:00pm

It’s likely that City will linger six points behind Arsenal heading into Monday’s fixture, albeit with a game in-hand to play. Everton have blown hot and cold lately in their push for European football, while this City team have appeared to show their grit and resilience in the title race. Pep’s side are likely to have too much attacking firepower for the home side, and should dictate the game from start to finish.

Prediction: Everton 0-2 Man City (13/2 with BOYLE Sports)
