CB: Maxence Lacroix – 66% – Twenty-six clearances, 24 duels won, 12 aerials and five blocked shots, with an assist to go with it. A solid, unspectacular return from the middle of the three, and the only Chelsea centre-back not charged with an error.

RWB: Pedro Neto – 65% – A goal, five chances created and 28 passes into the penalty area from the right, with 21 touches in the opposition box and seven completed take-ons. Twenty-four duels lost and four occasions beaten one-on-one show the defensive cost of playing him at wing-back.
RCM: Reece James – 70% – The captain has moved into midfield and it suits him. Eight shots with four on target, 20 passes into the penalty area and 26 progressive passes from three starts, and he takes the corners and the direct free-kicks. The highest-rated Chelsea player outside the front three.
LCM: Roméo Lavia – 65% – A goal from two shots and six interceptions in four starts, with 13 duels won to seven lost. His problem has been availability rather than performance: 262 minutes across four appearances tells its own story.
LWB: Jorrel Hato – 62% – Two assists and four chances created, two of them clear-cut, which is a fine attacking return from wing-back. An error leading to a goal and nine conceded in his four starts drag the score down, and 260 minutes suggests he has not convinced for a full 90.
RAM: Cole Palmer – 77% – Chelsea’s highest-rated player and back to something like his best. LAM: Morgan Rogers – 75% – An outstanding first month at his new club. Three goals and an assist, 15 shots, 11 chances created and a club-leading 1.37 xA, with 29 touches in the opposition box and nine take-ons. He and Palmer have carried this attack between them.
ST: João Pedro – 74% – Three goals and three assists in four starts, with 1.67 xG from 11 shots and 29 touches in the opposition box. He has also won 34 duels, the most of any Chelsea player, and completed seven take-ons. A centre-forward doing far more than finishing.
