Our PredictionOdds & BookmakerConfidenceWhy I’m Backing It
Jarrod Bowen Anytime Assist9/2 @ Betfred
(50%)
⭐⭐⭐⭐Only Bruno Fernandes has recorded more assists in the Premier League this season than Jarrod Bowen, who, along with Rayan Cherki, has ten to his name. Four of those assists have arrived across his last three matches, with two against Everton and two against Wolves. At 9/2, he looks too big a price here considering his recent form.
Over 3.5 Cards6/5 @ Bet365
(45.5%)
⭐⭐⭐I like the look of cards in West London on Saturday. Both teams have plenty to play for, with the visitors fighting for their lives and showing plenty of aggression over the last few weeks. For the hosts, they really need to be picking up a result here if they are to stand any chance of qualifying for Europe and with this in mind it would be no surprise to see a high card-count.

How both teams go into Brentford vs West Ham

Brentford’s push for a first-ever European spot is still alive, but their momentum has stalled after a five-game run of draws followed by defeat to Manchester United. It is their longest winless stretch in over a year, and frustration is growing after missed chances continue to cost them points. Even so, they remain right in the mix, sitting just two points off sixth place.

Home form is now a concern, with no wins in their last six at the Gtech Community Stadium and three straight draws. Their record in London derbies also needs work, although West Ham have been a rare bright spot. Brentford have won three of their last four home league meetings with the Hammers, scoring freely in each victory.

West Ham are showing signs of life at a crucial stage of the season, climbing the form table with a strong run since February. A win over Wolves, a draw at Crystal Palace and a late victory against Everton have given them momentum, with Callum Wilson’s stoppage time goal last time out underlining their fighting spirit.

They are still not safe though, sitting just above the bottom three with a tough run of fixtures to come. Results in London derbies have improved, but Brentford remain a difficult opponent. West Ham have lost seven of their nine Premier League meetings with the Bees, a record they will be desperate to improve.

Brentford team news

Brentford are still dealing with a number of absentees, with Antoni Milambo, Fabio Carvalho, Rico Henry and Vitaly Janelt all ruled out through injury, while Jordan Henderson is a doubt after missing the last four games. There is a boost with Josh Dasilva back in the squad after a long layoff, although he is unlikely to start, while Dango Ouattara and Kevin Schade should continue in attack alongside Igor Thiago.

West Ham team news

West Ham have no fresh injury concerns, and Nuno Espirito Santo could name an unchanged side after the win over Everton. Kyle Walker Peters is expected to keep his place at right back ahead of Aaron Wan Bissaka, with Axel Disasi, Konstantinos Mavropanos and El Hadji Malick Diouf completing the defence.

Season Form & Standings

Brentford are 9th with 48 points from 34 games — that’s 1.41 points per game. West Ham are down in 17th, just two clear of the drop, with 36 points from 34 (1.06 per game). It’s a 12-point, eight-place gap. Brentford’s form is patchy, but they’ve won the last two at home to West Ham. The Hammers are wobbling — 16 losses, 58 conceded, and just 9 wins all year. Both sides have little to play for except pride (and, for West Ham, survival).

Head-to-Head

Recent Meetings

Brentford have owned this fixture — seven wins in 11, including three of the last four. The last meeting was a 2-2 FA Cup draw, but Brentford have the edge in the league.

Can Brentford Punish West Ham’s Leaky Defence? Final Thoughts

Our best bet here is for Jarrod Bowen to make it five assists in is last four matches at 9/2. For a bit more spice, Over 3.5 Cards at 6/5 with Bet365 looks value given the numbers. I’m backing Brentford and a busy ref, and if you want a scorer, Thiago is the man.
