It was all change at Tottenham this week as the club lost their patience with Nuno Espirito Santo, the 3-0 home defeat to Manchester United being the final straw. But they worked quickly to replace the Portuguese manager and, after sacking Espirito Santo on Monday, new boss Antonio Conte was in the dugout for Tottenham’s 3-2 win over Vitesse in the Europa Conference League on Thursday. The Italian’s previous stint in the Premier League saw him turn a failing Chelsea squad full of stars and misfits into English champions and he will have a similar task on his hands at Tottenham, with the club currently struggling despite the quality on their books. After winning their opening three Premier League matches, Tottenham have now lost five of their past seven including consecutive defeats against West Ham and Man Utd.

There’s a similar story at Goodison Park but Everton are keeping the faith in Rafael Benitez right now. The Spaniard’s arrival was hoped to bring a new era to Everton, a good manager aiming to succeed where others have failed in pushing a talented squad to challenge for European football. Like Tottenham, they had a promising start, winning 10 points from their opening four matches but it has all gone downhill since. Everton go into this game with just four points from their past six games with four defeats, including three in a row against West Ham, Watford and Wolves.

Everton vs Tottenham: Match Stats

One of the big stories around Tottenham this season has been the poor Premier League form of Harry Kane, with the Englishman scoring just one goal in nine appearances (though he has been banging them in for fun in the Conference League). But there is a chance that could change this weekend as Kane loves playing against Everton. The Englishman has scored 11 goals in 12 Premier League matches against Everton including five braces.

If Conte’s first game at Tottenham is anything to go by, there should be goals. The north London side took a commanding 3-0 lead against Vitesse but shipped two goals to make things a look a lot closer on paper. Everton’s games haven’t been without goals either, with the Toffees scoring 16 and conceding 16 in the Premier League so far this season.
