West Ham Squawka Score Ratings 2025-26

With the 2025-26 season now over, take a look at West Ham’s most-used XI from this season below and how the players have managed to perform according to the Squawka Score rating system.

The Squawka Score is a metric developed to assess a player’s performance related to other players in the same position. It’s a percentage rating from 0 to 100, calculated based on various per-90-minute statistics, including the obvious stats such as goals and assists, but also some more obscure ones that are more position-specific.

GK – Alphonse Areola – 57% – Areola sits in the 80-95th percentile among goalkeepers for his saves per 90 minutes, which made up for his lower goals prevented and save percentage numbers.

RB – Kyle Walker-Peters – 53% – Walker-Peters ranked in the 95th percentile and above for his ground duel success rate, and also ranked well for challenges lost and tackles won. But his low interception numbers let him down as did his open-play crosses completed.

CB – Kostantinos Mavropanos – 61% – Mavropanos didn’t do too badly in his duels, both aerially or on the ground. He also sits in the 95th percentile and above for clearances completed. But Mavropanos’ passing were poor, as were his tackles won.

CB – Maximilian Kilman – 47% – Kilman was generally poor across the board defensively, with bad rankings in interceptions retaining possession and tackles won. But he did rank well for blocked shots and clearances.

LB – El Hadji Malick Diouf – 54% – Diouf ranked poorly for his ground duel success and Expected Assists, which is not what you want from a full-back. He was also poor for tackles won, but did rank in the 95th percentile and above for clearances completed per 90.

DM – Tomas Soucek – 44% – Soucek ranks as one of the worst in his position across the board in the Premier League last season. He scored poorly for tackles won, interceptions retaining possession and completed passes into the final third among other key metrics.

DM – Freddie Potts – 49% – Potts sits in the 60-80th percentile among central midfielders for his tackles won, and ranked lower for interceptions retaining possession. But he didn’t lose too many challenges, and there was promise for some of his stats.

CAM – Lucas Paqueta – 47% – Paqueta no longer plays for West Ham, leaving for Flamengo in the January transfer window. But he did still remain as their most used attacking midfielder, displaying a poor return for intentional assists and touches in the opposition box.

RW – Jarrod Bowen – 59% – Bowen was once again carrying the torch for West Ham, but he was unable to produce enough in front of goal to keep them in the division. The Englishman sits in the 80-95th percentile for his goals per 90 and touches in the opposition box.

LW – Crysencio Summerville – 48% – Summerville underperformed across the board, though that’s much like the rest of his West Ham attacking cohort.

FW – Callum Wilson – 61% – Wilson ended the season as West Ham’s joint-best ranked player. He sits in the 80-95th percentile among strikers for non-penalty post-shot Expected Goals and non-penalty xG.

West Ham set-piece specialists:

  • Penalties: Jarrod Bowen
  • Free-kicks: Mateus Fernandes, Freddie Potts
  • Corners: Freddie Potts, Jarrod Bowen
