A brand new tournament launches this season in the Europa Conference League.

Indeed, it is the first time since 1998-99 that three major European club competitions take place – along with the Champions League and Europa League.

The tournament will see 32 teams – as well as the eight third-placed teams from the Europa League group stage – compete for the right to be crowned the inaugural winners in Tirana on May 25.

Additionally, the winners will automatically qualify for the group stages of next season’s Europa League, providing they are not already guaranteed a place in the Champions League.

Here, we will be providing regular betting tips throughout the competition, which sees eight groups of four teams whittled down to 16 before the knockout stages ensue.

From individual matches to group winners, from top scorers to overall winners, we will have every angle covered.

Europa Conference League Fixtures

All matches will generally take place on a Thursday, with occasional ones on a Tuesday and Wednesday.

The group stage will be played from September 14 until December 9, with the knockout rounds kicking in from the turn of the year.

Matches in the play-off round, last 16, quarter-finals and semi-finals will be contested over two legs, which will be played in successive weeks, before the final in Tirana on May 25.

Europa Conference League Predictions

A total of 181 teams from well over 50 UEFA member associations have participated in the inaugural Europa Conference League, with just 32 remaining.

Who are the favourites for the title? Which teams will go under the radar?

We offer our insight below.

Outright Predictions

Tottenham Hotspur and Roma are widely considered to be among the favourites to lift the trophy next May.

Regular participants in the knockout stages of European competition, Tottenham were Champions League runners-up to Liverpool in 2019.

New boss Nuno Espirito Santo guided Wolverhampton Wanderers to the Europa League quarter-finals in 2019-20, and would love to end Spurs’ 14-year wait for a major trophy.

As for Roma, could this be the year they land their first major continental silverware.

The Giallorossi reached the Europa League semi-finals last season before narrowly losing out to Manchester United.

Of course, their hopes will be overseen by the irrepressible Jose Mourinho, who has won two Champions Leagues and two Europa Leagues during his illustrious managerial career.

Dark Horses

Of course, it will not be completely straightforward for those two teams.

European regulars like Feyenoord, Basel and Alkmaar will to look to pose genuine threats to their chances.

UEFA Cup winners in 2002, Feyenoord came through three qualifying rounds to take their place in the group stage.

Meanwhile, Basel reached the 2013 Europa League semi-finals and Alkmaar have got to the last eight twice in the past decade.
