Ladbrokes gives new UK and Irish customers £30 in free bets, paid as six £5 tokens, for a first bet of £5 or more at odds of 1/2 (1.50) or bigger placed within 14 days of signing up. No promo code is needed. Deposits by PayPal, Skrill, Neteller or Paysafecard don’t qualify, and free bet stakes aren’t returned.

We rate Ladbrokes 8 out of 10. Its £5 stake and 1/2 minimum odds set a lower bar than Paddy Power, Betfred or Kwiff, but PayPal users can’t claim it and the tokens last only seven days.

The Ladbrokes Bet £5 Get £30 Offer Explained

The Ladbrokes welcome offer is a bet-and-get deal: you place one qualifying bet with your own money, and Ladbrokes credits six £5 free bets worth £30 in total. The qualifying bet needs a stake of at least £5 at fractional odds of 1/2 or bigger, which is 1.50 in decimal, so a winning £5 qualifier returns at least £7.50. Each free bet is valid for seven days on selected markets.

Free bet stakes aren’t returned with winnings. A £5 token on a 2/1 winner pays £10, not the £15 a cash bet would return, and there’s no wagering requirement on what the tokens win.

That changes what the £30 is really worth. A £5 free bet at a fair price of evens has an expected value of £2.50, and one at 3/1 is worth £3.75, so six tokens spread across fair prices between evens and 3/1 are worth roughly £15 to £22.50 before the bookmaker’s margin. Longer odds raise the expected value but make a blank more likely.

How to Claim the Ladbrokes Sign-Up Offer

The steps are the same on the Ladbrokes website and on its iOS and Android apps.

myaccount.ladbrokes.com sign up page
  1. Click any link on this page to open Ladbrokes, then select Join.
  2. Fill in the registration form with your name, date of birth, address and contact details, then choose a username and password.
  3. Deposit £5 or more with a debit card. PayPal, Skrill, Neteller, Paysafecard and prepaid card deposits don’t count towards the offer.
  4. Within 14 days of registering, place your first bet of £5 or more at odds of 1/2 or bigger. Tote and Pools bets don’t count.
  5. Collect your six £5 free bets and use each one within seven days on an eligible market.

Ladbrokes may ask for photo ID and proof of address before your first withdrawal. It says document checks normally take no longer than 24 hours, so uploading them early stops a check from holding up your winnings.

Smart Ways to Use the Ladbrokes Welcome Offer This Month

QIPCO British Champions Day closes the British Flat turf season at Ascot on Saturday 17 October, with the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes and the Champion Stakes on the card. A day later, Leeds United host Manchester United at Elland Road in the sides’ first league meeting of the season. Bayern Munich welcome Arsenal to the Allianz Arena on Champions League matchday three on Wednesday 21 October, and the United States Grand Prix in Austin is on Sunday 25 October.

Time the qualifying bet around the event you care about most. Tokens last seven days from the moment they’re credited, so free bets that land on 17 October expire on 24 October, the day before the race in Austin. Free bets apply to selected markets only, so check each token’s eligible markets before you place it.

Is There a Ladbrokes Promo Code?

No promo code is necessary, as the offer is applied automatically once you click any of the Ladbrokes links on this page.

Ladbrokes Payment Methods

Ladbrokes takes deposits from £5 by debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Paysafecard, from £10 by PayPal, and by bank transfer. A debit card is the safe choice for the welcome offer, because PayPal, Skrill, Neteller, Paysafecard and other prepaid card deposits are excluded. Visa Fast Funds is the quickest way out, at up to four hours on eligible Visa debit cards, while standard card and bank withdrawals take one to four banking days. Ladbrokes doesn’t publish per-method withdrawal caps on the help pages we could reach, and third-party figures range from £2,000 to £250,000, so the table shows them as not published.

Withdrawals go back to the method you deposited with wherever possible, so a Paysafecard depositor needs a second method, such as a debit card or bank account, to cash out. Your bank’s own processing can stretch card and bank transfer withdrawals to five banking days. Skrill and Neteller still appear in Ladbrokes’ offer exclusions, but the October 2026 payment lists we cross-checked disagree on whether either is still offered, so they’re left out of the table.

How Ladbrokes Compares to Other Bookmakers

Ladbrokes’ £5 stake and 1/2 minimum odds are the easiest qualifying terms in this group, matched only by Coral.

BookmakerWelcome offerMin oddsMin stakeFree bet expiry
LadbrokesBet £5 Get £30 in Free Bets1/2 (1.50)£57 days
CoralBet £5 Get £301/2 (1.50)£57 days
Paddy PowerGet £30 in free bets when you place a £5 betEvens (2.0)£530 days
BetfredGet £50 in free bets when you bet £10 onlineEvens (2.0)£107 days
KwiffBet £10 Get £40 in free betsEvens (2.0)£107 days

Coral runs the identical deal because the same company, LC International Limited, operates both brands. Paddy Power also asks for £5, but at evens, and gives 30 days to use its free bets. Betfred and Kwiff pay more, £50 and £40, for a £10 stake at evens, and both put part of the reward into Bet Builder or multi-selection free bets.

Who Is the Ladbrokes Offer Best For?

The Ladbrokes offer suits casual punters who want a cheap way in and like spreading small stakes across several events. Six £5 tokens stretch further than a single £30 free bet, and the 1/2 minimum means a short-priced favourite still qualifies. It also suits:

  • Racing fans, because Best Odds Guaranteed covers UK and Irish horse racing.
  • Football punters who use Bet Builder or 2Up & Win, which settles your bet as a winner when your team goes two goals up on selected matches.
  • iPhone users, since the iOS app holds a 4.7 rating from about 101,000 App Store ratings.

Look elsewhere if you bank with PayPal or Paysafecard, because those deposits don’t qualify. Punters who want longer to pick their spots get 30 days at Paddy Power against Ladbrokes’ seven, and anyone chasing a bigger reward for a £10 stake will find £50 at Betfred.

About Ladbrokes

Ladbrokes is a British bookmaker founded in 1886, when Messrs Schwind and Pennington set up as commission agents for horses trained at Ladbroke Hall in Warwickshire. The Ladbrokes name followed in 1902, when Arthur Bendir joined and moved the business to London.

The company merged with Coral in November 2016 to form Ladbrokes Coral Group, GVC Holdings completed its takeover in March 2018, and GVC renamed itself Entain in 2020. Online, Ladbrokes is run by LC International Limited, which holds UK Gambling Commission account 54743 and also trades as Coral, bwin, Gala, Foxy Bingo, Sporting Bet and Party Casino.

The record isn’t spotless. In August 2022, the Gambling Commission agreed a £17 million settlement with Entain over anti-money laundering and safer gambling failures, £14 million of it tied to LC International Limited’s online business. Customer feedback is poor too: as of 13 October 2026, Ladbrokes’ Trustpilot TrustScore is 1.2 from 4,306 reviews, and the common complaints are delayed withdrawals, repeat ID requests and closed accounts.

We score bookmakers on licensing, markets, payments, odds, promotions, app quality and customer service, and the full process is set out in our bookmaker review methodology.

Betting Features at Ladbrokes

Bet Builder

Bet Builder combines several selections from one football match, such as the result, a goalscorer and total goals, into a single bet at one price. Compare it with rival versions on our best bet builder sites page.

Cash Out

Cash Out lets you settle a bet before the event finishes, for the amount Ladbrokes offers at that moment, which can lock in part of a profit or cut a loss. Our cash out betting sites page shows how other bookmakers handle it.

In-Play Betting and Live Streaming

The in-play section prices live football, tennis and other sports with odds that update during play, and selected events can be streamed in the app or on the website. Not every match is streamed, so check the event page before kick-off, or see our live betting sites page for alternatives.

The Ladbrokes App for iOS and Android

Ladbrokes’ sports betting app is free on iPhone and Android. As of 13 October 2026, the iOS app is rated 4.7 from about 101,000 App Store ratings and needs iOS 18 or later, while the Android app is rated 4.2 from 28,067 Google Play ratings and has more than one million downloads.

The App Store listing, published by Entain Operations Limited, covers new customer offers, odds boosts, Acca Boosts, 2Up & Win, Best Odds Guaranteed on UK and Irish racing and in-play betting. Android users rate it half a star lower than iPhone users do. See how it stacks up against other betting apps.

Promotions for New and Existing Ladbrokes Customers

Alongside the £30 welcome offer for new customers, Ladbrokes runs these regular promotions:

  • Best Odds Guaranteed: if the starting price beats the odds you took on a UK or Irish horse race, Ladbrokes pays at the bigger price.
  • Odds Boosts: boosted prices on selected markets, including horse and greyhound racing.
  • Acca Boosts: higher payouts on qualifying football accumulators.
  • Acca Insurance: your stake back as a free bet when one leg of a qualifying accumulator loses.
  • 2Up & Win: on selected matches, your match result bet is settled as a winner if your team goes two goals up, whatever the final score.

Ladbrokes’ free-to-play 1-2-Free score predictor ran weekly earlier in 2026, but we couldn’t confirm an October 2026 round, so it isn’t listed. Promotion terms change often, so read each one in the Promotions tab before you bet.

Dean’s Take on Ladbrokes

“I like how little Ladbrokes asks for: £5 at 1/2 is about as easy as a UK welcome offer gets, and six separate tokens let you cover a Saturday at Ascot and a Sunday at Elland Road without spending more. The catch is the deposit rule, because PayPal, Skrill and Neteller users get nothing, and the seven-day expiry punishes anyone who signs up in a quiet week. I’d also keep an eye on withdrawals, given the Trustpilot complaints about repeat ID checks. If you bank by debit card and bet on racing or football most weekends, it’s an easy sign-up to justify.” (Dean Smith)

Ladbrokes FAQs

Does Ladbrokes accept credit cards?

No. The UK Gambling Commission banned gambling with credit cards from 14 April 2020, so Ladbrokes takes debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, bank transfers and Paysafecard instead. Use a debit card if you want the welcome offer.

Do I still get the free bets if my qualifying bet loses?

Yes. The six £5 free bets depend on placing a qualifying bet, not on winning it. The qualifier has to be your first bet, though, so an opening bet under £5 or at odds shorter than 1/2 rules you out.

Can customers in Ireland claim the Ladbrokes offer?

Yes. New customers in the Republic of Ireland claim it in euros, so a first bet of €5 or more at 1/2 or bigger brings six €5 free bets on the same seven-day terms. Customers in Northern Ireland get the sterling version.

How is a Ladbrokes free bet different from a deposit bonus?

A free bet carries no wagering requirement, but its stake isn’t returned with winnings. A deposit bonus, such as 10bet’s 100% match up to £50, adds bonus cash that has to be wagered first, ten times over in 10bet’s case, before you can withdraw it.

Do I pay tax on Ladbrokes winnings?

No. UK punters don’t pay tax on betting winnings, because the duty is charged to bookmakers. That covers winnings from your free bets too.

How do I set a deposit limit or self-exclude at Ladbrokes?

Set deposit limits, take a time-out or self-exclude from the safer gambling settings in your Ladbrokes account. As a Gambling Commission licensee, Ladbrokes also takes part in GAMSTOP, which blocks you from every UK-licensed gambling site at once. Free, confidential help is available at gambleaware.org or on the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133.
