Manchester United vs Newcastle: Predictions
Manchester United’s title charge has derailed in the past few weeks as they watch their local rivals sail to a 10-point lead at the top of the table. The Red Devil’s only have one Premier League win to their name in their last five games – albeit an impressive 9-0 victory over Southampton.
Steve Bruce’s Newcastle have slumped closer to the relegation zone following Fulham’s win away to Everton on the weekend and then their draw against Burnley during the week. Although they still have a six-point cushion on the Cottagers, the Magpies have only won two of their last 13 league games.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaers’s men had to travel to Spain during the week for their Europa League clash against Real Sociedad. It was job well done for Solskjaer’s men as they ran out emphatic 4-0 victors against the Spanish outfit as Fernandes helped himself to another two goals.
The Magpies have been handed the worst news possible as their top goal scorer Callum Wilson has been ruled out for two months following his injury picked up against Southampton earlier this month. Dwight Gayle started in his place against Chelsea during the week, but the visitors failed to cause Kepa Arrizabalaga any real problems.

Manchester United vs Newcastle: Match Stats
Bruno Fernandes has dragged Manchester United through it at times this season and the Portuguese midfielder has rediscovered his shooting boots after scoring his last three league games despite going without a league goal since New Year’s Day.
Newcastle goalkeeper Karl Darlow has had an impressive season in the absence of the first-choice Martin Dubravka. Unfortunately for Darlow, he will be coming up against the Premier League’s top scorers with 50 goals to their name.
