However, since making it Down Under, Les Bleues have faltered slightly. Opening the group against lower-ranked Panama, Brazil were expected to win but the manner of the victory despite the opponent had fans purring. Great football was on display as Brazil ran out 4-0 winners to sit two points clear at the top of Group F, and victory would seal a last 16 spot with one match to spare.

Ary Borges was the star of the show in Brazil’s 4-0 win over Panama, bagging a hat-trick as well as recording one assist. Making her World Cup debut, Ary was just the fifth player to score a hat-trick on their first-ever appearance in the competition but the first Brazilian to do so.
At the other end of the pitch, France may have struggled in front of goal in their past two matches, failing to score against Australia and Jamaica but it is a rare occurrence. In fact, you have to go back to 2016 to find the last time France when three consecutive matches without finding the net.
