Switzerland vs Serbia prediction, stats, tips & team news: Will Switzerland avoid Group A4 relegation?

Switzerland will be striving to avoid relegation in the UEFA Nations League when they host Serbia on Friday, November 15, at 7:45 PM.

Murat Yakin’s team currently sits at the bottom of Group A4 and will be relegated if they do not secure a victory against Serbia, who are three points ahead going into the penultimate round of fixtures. Although Switzerland cannot reach the quarter-finals, Serbia will also be out of contention if they lose to Switzerland and Denmark avoids defeat, or if they draw and Denmark defeats Spain in the other match being played. This game will be broadcast live in the UK, although the specific channel has yet to be confirmed.

Over 2.5 goals (21/20 with Betfair)

Each of Switzerland’s last three Nations League home matches have seen over 2.5 goals scored, which also applies to four of the last six matches the Swiss nation have played. Two of the three meetings between these two nations have seen over 2.5 goals so expect the net to be bulging here.

Switzerland to score first (8/13 with Sky Bet)

In three of Switzerland’s last four home matches in the UEFA Nations League, they have broken the deadlock, with Remo Freuler doing so on two occasions. Serbia have conceded first in two of their last three games in the Nations League and, with Switzerland needing the win, expect a fast start from the Swiss side.

How both teams go into Switzerland vs Serbia

Switzerland has had a disappointing UEFA Nations League campaign, especially after their impressive performance at Euro 2024 this summer. Currently, they sit at the bottom of Group A4 with only one point, which they earned from a 2-2 draw against Denmark in their last match. In that game, they managed to take the lead twice. Prior to that, Switzerland faced three consecutive losses, scoring just one goal while conceding eight. Serbia is just above Switzerland in the standings, three points ahead, thanks to their 2-0 victory over the Swiss and a goalless draw against Spain that started their campaign.

Switzerland team news

Gregor Kobel, Nico Elvedi, and Michel Aebischer have all beaten their injury problems and are included in the squad for this game.

Serbia team news

Vanja Milinković-Savić, Saša Lukić, and Sergej Milinković-Savić are absent from Dragan Stojković’s squad, which includes forwards Mihailo Ivanović and Mihajlo Cvetković, both eager to make their full senior debuts.

Switzerland vs Serbia head-to-head

This will be the third meeting between Serbia and Switzerland, with Serbia losing the first two encounters before winning their most recent showdown.
