Scotland vs Croatia prediction, stats, tips & team news: Will Scotland avoid Group A relegation?
Scotland will be aiming to avoid relegation in the UEFA Nations League when they host Croatia on Friday, November 15th, at 7:45 PM.
Currently, Steve Clarke’s team is at the bottom of Group A1 and faces relegation if they lose to Croatia and Poland avoids defeat, or if they draw and Poland wins. On the other hand, Croatia can secure a place in the quarter-finals by defeating Scotland, or if they draw while Poland does not win against Portugal in the other fixture. This match will be broadcast live in the UK, although the specific channel has not yet been confirmed.
Croatia to win (6/5 with Bet Goodwin)
Scotland lost three of their last four UEFA Nations League matches by one goal, while Croatia won two of their last three Nations League fixtures by one goal. The last meeting between the two nations ended with Croatia running out 2-1 winners and it’s easy to see a similar scoreline here in what should be a tight game as things hot up in Group A1.

The Napoli midfielder has been the biggest threat for his country, finding the net 11 times in his career with three of those coming in his last four appearances for his country. Scotland will need his runs into the box in order to push the Croatia defence back and create space for his teammates as well as being a threat in dangerous spaces himself.

How both teams go into Scotland vs Croatia
After a frustrating Euro 2024 campaign, Scotland finds itself at the bottom of Group A following the first four rounds. Steve Clarke will lament his team’s performance as they head into this latest fixture with only one point. Scotland previously had strong showings against Croatia and Poland, even coming back from being 2-0 down against Poland in the opening week to level proceedings. Unfortunately, Scotland lost all three games, with Poland and Portugal scoring late winners.
Croatia, on the other hand, are currently in second place. They started their campaign with a 2-1 loss to group leaders Portugal but bounced back with two consecutive wins over Poland and Scotland. Their most recent match ended in an exciting 3-3 draw against Poland.
Scotland team news
Goalkeepers Robby McCrorie and Cieran Slicker are among three uncapped players named in Steve Clarke’s squad for the upcoming fixture. Rangers midfielder Connor Barron is the other player seeking to make his senior international debut.
Croatia team news
Luka Modrić continues his international career and is one of four centurions in Croatia’s squad, including Hoffenheim striker Andrej Kramarić, who earned his 100th cap last time out.
Scotland vs Croatia head-to-head
Scotland remained unbeaten in their first five encounters with Croatia, recording three draws and two wins, before experiencing consecutive defeats, including one at Euro 2020.
