Everton vs Leicester prediction, stats, tips & team news

There will be an interesting clash in the relegation battle as Everton host Leicester City at Goodison Park on Saturday 1st February at 3pm.

The Toffees are six points clear of Leicester having played one game fewer at the time of writing. But victory for the Foxes would bring another twist at the bottom of the Premier League.

Everton to win, Under 1.5 goals and Oliver Skipp to be booked (18/1 with Bet365)

Leicester have struggled in front of goal of late, scoring just two goals in their past seven Premier League games. Everton’s 3-2 win over Tottenham was an anomaly. The Toffees’ games haven’t generally been high-scoring. Since the start of October, eight of Everton’s 15 league matches have seen less than two goals scored. Oliver Skipp has been booked four times in the Premier League this season.

How both teams go into Everton vs Leicester

Although the David Moyes era got off to a losing start, it didn’t take too long for things to get up and running. In his first home game back in charge of the Toffees, Moyes oversaw a 3-2 win over Tottenham Hotspur and followed it up with a 1-0 win over Brighton. Those results saw Everton move seven points clear of the relegation zone, and Moyes may be hoping to secure safety by making Goodison Park a fortress.

Next up at Goodison Park are a Leicester side that just don’t know how to win. The Foxes sit 17th in the table, two points from safety. They’ve won four of their 22 games so far, with two of those coming under new boss Ruud van Nistelrooy. Leicester saw their losing run end last time out, running out 2-1 winners over Tottenham, lifting them out of the bottom three, albeit only by one point.

Youssef Chermiti may still be out for Everton, with this game also being too soon for Seamus Coleman and Timothy Iroegbunam. Armando Broja is out longer-term, but James Garner could be back. Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Dwight McNeil remain out with injuries.

Leicester team news

Abdul Fatawu is a long-term absentee for Leicester, with Ricardo Pereira also unavailable. But the Foxes could welcome back Wilfred Ndidi for this one.
