How both teams go into Chelsea vs Bournemouth
Enzo Maresca kept warning us that Chelsea aren’t genuine title challengers and it turns out he was correct, with the Blues taking just two points from their last four matches and slipping to fourth in the table — 10 points adrift of leaders Liverpool. Even so, Chelsea supporters remain thrilled with how their team are performing this season in comparison to recent years.
The Cherries are unbeaten in nine in all competitions and despite drawing three of their last five, sit seventh in the table, just three points behind Chelsea.
Chelsea team news
Maresca will be missing Benoit Badiashile and Wesley Fofana for this match, while Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Romeo Lavia should be well back in action already.
Bournemouth team news
Adam Smith, Alex Scott and Marcus Tavernier won’t be back for this match, and it may come a little too soon for Tyler Adams. Julian Araujo is out until late February, while we’re unlikely to see Marcos Senesi until sometime in March.
Chelsea vs Bournemouth head-to-head
Chelsea are unbeaten in their last six meetings with Bournemouth, with the Cherries’ last victory against the Blues coming in December 2019 at Stamford Bridge.
