Aston Villa vs Bournemouth prediction, stats, tips and team news: Tielemans a tasty price in the fouls market
We have a battle of the Basque bosses on Saturday in the Premier League as Aston Villa take on Bournemouth. After a 10/11 winner in Villa’s win over Bologna on Tuesday, Anthony Eadson returns with his best bets and match preview.
Two Aston Villa vs Bournemouth predictions
Youri Tielemans 2+ Fouls Committed (6/4 with Paddy Power)
Your Tielemans has been one of the stand-out players for Aston Villa this season and is proving a pivotal figure for Unai Emery’s men in the middle of the park. My main bet on Saturday involves the Belgian, who I’m backing to give away 2+ fouls at 6/4.
No player has given away more fouls for Villa this season, and looking at Tielemans’ foul totals for his last five league games, they read 2,2,3,2,2. As we can see, this bet has landed in his last five Premier League matches, and with odds of 6/4 only implying a 40% chance of success, we are getting a price that holds plenty of value.
Ollie Watkins & Antoine Semenyo To Score (17/2 with Paddy Power)
Ollie Watkins should be raring to go on Saturday after not starting the game against Bologna, and he has a good record against Bournemouth, with five goal involvements across his last five matches against the Cherries. Watkins has already managed five goals in the league this season, with three of those coming at Villa Park. I think there will be plenty of goals here, and backing Watkins makes up the first half of this 17/2 double.
Bournemouth rank third for total shots taken in the Premier League this season, with a whopping 37 attempts coming courtesy of Antoine Semenyo. The 24-year-old has scored in three of his eight league outings this term. After letting off six shots against Arsenal last week, he looks overpriced at 7/2 as a single, considering Villa failed to win at home after their last Champions League game against Bayern.
It’s also worth noting that with both bets on Saturday, Paddy Power’s ‘Super Sub’ offer applies, meaning our bet will roll on to the next player should any of them be substituted.

How both teams go into Aston Villa vs Bournemouth
Aston Villa have made an excellent start to the campaign, sitting fourth in the league, level on points with Arsenal and just four points behind leaders Liverpool. The Gunners are the only team to beat them so far in 2024/25. Villa are also enjoying themselves in the Champions League with wins over Young Boys and Bayern Munich, and most recently Bologna on Tuesday evening.
Bournemouth pulled off their best result of the season so far after beating Arsenal 2-0 last weekend. The Cherries benefited from a first-half red card to William Saliba but dominated the shot-count 13-6. Away from the Vitality, Bournemouth have taken four points from a possible 12 this term, with a win at Everton and a point at Forest, along with defeats at Liverpool and Leicester.
Aston Villa team news
After his red card against Fulham last weekend, Jaden Philogene will miss this game through suspension. Amadou Onana should remain in the starting line-up after his half-time substitution against Bologna. Ollie Watkins should replace Jhon Duran at the head of the attack for the hosts.
Bournemouth team news
Tyler Adams was classified as fit enough to make the matchday squad against Arsenal last weekend, meaning Bournemouth have a clean bill of health heading to the midlands this weekend. Adam Smith is set to replace Julian Araujo at right-back.
