Arsenal vs Man United prediction, odds, tips & team news
Arsenal and Manchester United clash in the FA Cup tie of the third round on Sunday 12th January at 3pm. This clash at the Emirates Stadium will be broadcast live in the UK on BBC One.
These two teams are the most successful in the history of the competition, with the Gunners having lifted the trophy an unrivaled 14 times. United however are the currently holders after upsetting Manchester City in the final under Erik ten Hag in May.
Harry Maguire to be Carded (10/3 with bet365)
Harry Maguire was booked when these two teams met in the Premier League in January and he looks good value to pick up another card here. Manchester City are the only club that Maguire has been booked more against than Arsenal in his career, and the centre-back has seen yellow in four of his last six league appearances against Arteta’s men.
In the Premier League this season, Maguire has started nine matches and has been cautioned in four of those. Often clumsy and liable to go through the back of someone, Maguire makes plenty of appeal in this market.
Gabriel to Score a Header (12/1 with bet365)
It’s no secret that Arsenal are incredibly dangerous from set-pieces. Since the start of last season The Gunners have scored more goals from corners than any other side in Europe’s top-five leagues.
On the other hand Manchester United have really struggled at set-pieces this season, particularly under Ruben Amorim. Gabriel bagged against United at the Emirates in December and I’m backing him to score a header against a United side who continue to look vulnerable.

How both teams go into Arsenal vs Man United
This is a fixture steeped in FA Cup history. This century alone, Arsenal and Man United have faced off seven times, including the 2004-05 final. Arsenal won that game, but Man United have the edge with eight victories overall to the Gunners’ five. And Man United won the last FA Cup meeting in 2019. Since their last FA Cup success in 2019-20, Arsenal haven’t had the best luck in the competition. In the four seasons since, they’ve been knocked out in the third round twice and the fourth round twice. Last season they were beaten by Liverpool in the third round, losing 0-2 at home.
For Man United, this is Ruben Amorim second taste of cup football in England. His first experience wasn’t a good one, with Man United knocked out of the EFL Cup by Tottenham Hotspur. Amorim’s side arrive at the Emirates winless in five matches, conceding 2+ goals in all of those.
Arsenal team news
Bukayo Saka remains out for Arsenal, joined on the sidelines by Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu.
Man United team news
Mason Mount, Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw are all out for Man United. There will also be the question of Marcus Rashford’s availability, should Man United wish to avoid cup-tying him.
Arsenal vs Man United head-to-head
Arsenal have won their last four games against Man United, their best run in this fixture for 26 years. But their last loss to Man United at the Emirates did come in the FA Cup in 2019.
