
Gameweek 24 of the 2025-26 Premier League season was a drama-filled one.
There were comebacks for Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, with West Ham United and Manchester City losing two-goal leads respectively. Arsenal slightly tightened their grip on top spot, while Manchester United rolled back the years with a last-gasp winner against Fulham.
Liverpool were also big winners, beating Newcastle United 4-1 at Anfield. And two Reds players make our Squawka Score Team of the Week for Gameweek 24 — the joint-most of any club.

GK: Caoimhin Kelleher (Brentford)
- Squawka Score: 84%
Caoimhin Kelleher had to work hard to keep his clean sheet against Aston Villa at the weekend. He made five saves, four of which came from shots inside the box. The most crucial stat, though, is his 1.98 goals prevented — more than any other goalkeeper from Gameweek 24. Kelleher also completed 12 long passes and made two punched clearances.
Honourable mention: Djordje Petrovic (80%)
Djordje Petrovic made seven saves in Gameweek 24, more than any other goalkeeper. He also prevented 1.42 goals, keeping a clean sheet against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
RB: Dominik Szoboszlai (Liverpool)
- Squawka Score: 75%
Dominik Szoboszlai returned to right-back in Liverpool’s win over Newcastle and put in his usual impressive performance. He created one big chance, and was part of a defence to face just two shots on target. Szoboszlai also won possession three times in the defensive third and completed 10 passes into the final third.
Honourable mention: Diogo Dalot (70%)
Diogo Dalot won two tackles and made there clearances, as well as blocking one cross. He also completed 10 passes into the final third.
CB: Ezri Konsa (Aston Villa)
- Squawka Score: 71%
Ezri Konsa was a big part of Aston Villa’s defence at the weekend, both in terms of defence and his ability on the ball. He was attributed with three successful offside traps and one last-man tackle, forming a defence that faced 0.37 non-penalty Expected Goals. Konsa also boasted a retention rate of 98.88%, almost never giving the ball away, alongside seven completed passes into the final third. And he won 100% of his ground duels.
Honourable mention: Ibrahima Konate (67%)
Ibrahima Konate made 10 clearances and won two tackles in Liverpool’s win over Newcastle.
CB: Dan Ballard (Sunderland)
- Squawka Score: 70%
Sunderland kept a clean sheet against Burnley with Dan Ballard integral. The Black Cats faced just 0.09 non-penalty xG, thanks in part to Ballard’s eight clearances and four aerial duels won. Ballard also won 75% of his ground duels and boasted a retention rate of 91.94%.
Honourable mention: Omar Alderete (67%)
Another member of Sunderland’s backline, Omar Alderete won 100% of his ground duels and won possession three times in the defensive third.
LB: Ian Maatsen (Aston Villa)
- Squawka Score: 68%
Although he ended up on the losing side, Ian Maatsen can hold his head high for his performance against Brentford. The Dutchman won four tackles, the most of any full-back in the Premier League in Gameweek 24. He was also part of a defence that faced just two shots on target. At the other end of the pitch, Maatsen had an incredible 10 touches in the opposition box, another gameweek-high.
Honourable mention: Hugo Bueno (67%)
Hugo Bueno created one big chance and won two tackles for Wolves despite their defeat. He also completed 100% of his open-play crosses.
DM: Casemiro (Man Utd)
- Squawka Score: 78%
Casemiro put in a strong performance for Man Utd against Fulham, scoring and providing an intentional assist to help them go 2-0 up. In terms of his defensive job, Casemiro won eight duels, include 100% of his aerial battles. He also won possession twice in the defensive third and made one interception retaining possession.
Honourable mention: Pascal Gross (75%)
Pascal Gross scored his first goal back for Brighton and Hove Albion, and completed 92.31% of his open-play passes.
DM: Elliot Anderson (Nottingham Forest)
- Squawka Score: 76%
Elliot Anderson had his work cut out for him as Nottingham Forest went down to 10 men. But he made sure the midfield wasn’t overrun by Crystal Palace. He won 12 duels with 92.31% success rate on the ground, while winning possession six times in the middle third. Anderson made 10 ball recoveries but also won three fouls himself and completed five take-ons.

Ryan Gravenberch won possession four times in the middle third and created one big chance for Liverpool against Newcastle.
RW: Noni Madueke (Arsenal)
- Squawka Score: 80%
Noni Madueke had to step in to replace Bukayo Saka on Arsenal’s right hand side, and he ensured the Gunners didn’t miss their star man. Madueke both scored and provided an intentional assist, from one shot on target and one big chance created. He completed four take-ons during his 61 minutes on the pitch, with 66.67% success rate. Madueke also completed three crosses, completed 11 final third passes and posted 0.71 non-penalty xG.
Honourable mention: Rayan Cherki (78%)
Rayan Cherki scored for Man City in their draw against Tottenham while also completing two take-ons and having six touches in the opposition box.
No.10: Xavi Simons (Tottenham)
- Squawka Score: 84%
Xavi Simons was vital to Tottenham’s comeback against Man City, setting up Dominic Solanke for their first goal. An intentional assist, Simons created four chances in total, two of which were big chances. Overall, the Dutchman completed 20 final third passes, two crosses and had four touches in the opposition box. He also made seven ball recoveries, had two shots on target and completed five take-ons.
Honourable mention: Florian Wirtz (77%)
Florian Wirtz continued on his good run of form with a goal and an intentional assist against Newcastle. He also created two big chances and had seen touches in the opposition box.
LW: Crysencio Summerville (West Ham)
- Squawka Score: 74%
Crysencio Summerville ran the show in the first half of West Ham’s eventual defeat to Chelsea. He scored the Hammers’ second goal with a well-taken finish, posting 0.36 non-penalty post-shot xG. Summerville completed 66.67% of his attempted take-ons and made five ball recoveries as West Ham dominated the first part of the game.
Honourable mention: Chemsdine Talbi (72%)
Chemsdine Talbi scored Sunderland’s third and final goal against Burnley. He completed four take-ons and registered 0.55 non-penalty post-shot xG.
ST: Hugo Ekitike (Liverpool)
- Squawka Score: 75%
Hugo Ekitike scored twice in Liverpool’s impressive win over Newcastle and was on top form. The Frenchman had four shots on target in total, posting 1.83 non-penalty post-shot xG from 1.31 xG. So he improved his chances of scoring by 0.52 by his shot placement. Ekitike was a busy man too, having eight touches in the opposition box and completing three lay off passes. It was an excellent striker’s performance.
Honourable mention: Dominic Solanke (71%)
Dominic Solanke was responsible for Tottenham’s comeback against Man City, scoring both goals. They were from his two shots on target, with 1.45 xG overperformance. Of course, a lot of that came from his scorpion kick equaliser.
