The Selecao are on something of a drought in the World Cup, for their high standards. Brazil haven’t lifted the Jules Rimet trophy since 2002, when they beat Germany in South Korea.
Their 2026 tournament didn’t get off to the best start as they were held to a 1-1 draw at the MetLife Stadium by a Morocco side with a point to prove in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
However, the Selecao were able to return to form with back-to-back 3-0 victories over Haiti and Scotland in their other two games in the group.

Having reached the quarter-finals in each of the last two World Cups, Brazil will look to give a better account of themselves this time around – but the competition has only grown stronger.
Their odds of around 14/1 suggest that they are very much considered to be among the contenders but they are not quite in the same group of favourites as France, Spain and England.
