Favourites Portugal are currently second in Group K at the 2026 World Cup, in which they are joined by Colombia, Uzbekistan, and DR Congo.
Roberto Martinez’s side were heavily expected to win Group K. However, they were given a reality check in their opening game against DR Congo, who held out for a hard-earned 1-1 draw in Houston.
But Portugal bounced back in their second game, beating Uzbekistan 5-0 in Houston. However, Colombia are showing no signs of slowing down and remain first with back-to-back victories against the White Wolves and the Cafeteros.

Portugal Group K odds
Roberto Martinez’s Portugal were initially installed as the massive favourites to win Group K after coming through their Uefa qualifying group with relative ease. They topped Group F in qualifying, losing just one of their six matches and scoring 20 goals in six games.
The options within the Portugal are clear to see – most notably Cristiano Ronaldo, who is playing in what should be his last World Cup, where he’ll be hoping to capture the one trophy that has alluded him in his career. He’s backed up by other elite talents, with Rafael Leao, Pedro Neto, Bruno Fernandes and Bernardo Silva all capable of producing match-winning moments in the final third.
Their midfield also looks to be one of the best around this summer, with PSG duo Joao Neves and Vitinha emerging as world-class talents in the past couple of years, while the defence features Ruben Dias, Nuno Mendes and Joao Cancelo.
Despite their strength in depth, though, Portugal were given a stark reminder that this group will not be a walkover by any means in their opening game. Any worries of Portugal not making it out of the group were quickly put to rest, though, after their big win over Uzbekistan.
Colombia Group K odds
Colombia were one of five nations that qualified from the Conmebol group that finished within one point of each other, highlighting just how closely matched the majority of South Amercian sides have become. They finished in third position, losing just four of their 18 matches but being the only side that qualified that conceded in excess of a goal a game.
This is Colombia’s seventh time at the World Cup, with a quarter-final appearance in 2014 proving to be their best finish. They failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup, but have made a winning start upon their return, after they beat Uzbekistan and DR Congo to take a surprising lead at the summit of Group K.
DR Congo Group K odds
DR Congo reached their first World Cup for 52 years when Axel Tuanzebe’s extra-time goal gave them a 1-0 victory over Jamaica in their inter-continental play-off final.
The Leopards have only played at one finals before, losing all three group games on debut as Zaire in 1974, conceding 14 goals without reply. However, they have already bettered that, thanks to Yoane Wissa’s header, which earned a 1-1 draw with Portugal.
Sebastien Desabre’s side then lost to Colombia but could still advance to the knockout stages.
Uzbekistan Group K odds
This is Uzbekistan’s first appearance at the World Cup as an independent nation after seven previous attempts to reach the biggest stage. They were rank outsiders to win Group K and can no longer top the group after two defeats from two. They face an uphill battle now to even qualify for the knockout stages.
Uzbekistan finished second in Group A of the AFC qualifying stage, two points behind Iran but six points clear of United Arab Emirates. They lost just once in their qualifying campaign, averaging 1.4 goals per game and conceding 0.7 times per game.
