Premier League predictions – Gameweek 30: Chelsea to claim bragging rights

Published: 9:27, 1 April 2025

The 2024-25 Premier League returns from the March international break and it’s full steam ahead.

Gameweek 30 is set to treat fans with a couple of derbies, starting with Premier League leaders Liverpool against Everton at Anfield. The gameweek ends on Thursday with Chelsea hosting Tottenham Hotspur, looking to stay in the top four.

There are a few other intriguing ties across the midweek, including Nottingham Forest hosting Manchester United. Two of the three relegation battlers are away from home, but Southampton also have a tough home game against Crystal Palace.

We’ve taken a look at all 10 matches from gameweek 30 and offered our predicted scores.

Arsenal vs Fulham

Arsenal couldn’t have asked for a better opponent on their return from the international break. Fulham may be chasing European football, but they just cannot play away against Arsenal. The Gunners have never lost a home game against Fulham in their history, with 31 league games and one cup match. Arsenal’s 31 home league games without defeat is the most one side has played against another without every losing in English Football League history.

Prediction: Arsenal 3-1 Fulham (23/2 with Casumo)

Wolves vs West Ham

Wolverhampton Wanderers will be looking to increase the gap to the relegation zone as they edge towards safety. But West Ham United pose tough opposition on the head-to-head. The Hammers have won seven of their past nine games against Wolves, albeit losing the other two. Those two victories for Wolves did come in the past three games at Molineux, but West Ham won this exact fixture 1-2 last season. West Ham have also won each of their past three league games played in midweek.

Prediction: Wolves 1-2 West Ham (9/1 with Casumo)

Nottingham Forest vs Man Utd

Nottingham Forest will be looking to make a statement against Man Utd. They’re looking to complete the league double over Man Utd for the first time since 1991-92 under Brian Clough. A win would tighten their grip on a spot in the top four, with time running out for the chasing back to potentially overtake them. Nuno Espirito Santo’s men are unbeaten in their past eight home league games, keeping a clean sheet in the past three. Man Utd, meanwhile, have won just four of their 14 away league games this season, with two of those victories coming against teams currently in the relegation zone.

Prediction: Nottingham Forest 2-0 Man Utd (19/2 with Casumo)

Bournemouth vs Ipswich

Bournemouth‘s European hopes have taken a bit of a knock due to poor form, and the Cherries are winless in their past three home league games. But Ipswich Town will be welcome visitors. The Tractor Boys are struggling in the relegation zone and poor on the road of late. Ipswich have lost four of their past six away league games, losing the other two. They’ve also won just one of their 16 away league games against Bournemouth, though their most recent visit was in November 2014.

Prediction: Bournemouth 2-1 Ipswich (6/1 with Casumo)

Brighton vs Aston Villa

These two sides will both be holding European aspirations, and defeat would be a blow. Brighton and Hove Albion go into this game unbeaten in their past five, winning four. The Seagulls have won each of their past three home league games, and are seeking a fourth consecutive home win for the first time in the top flight. But Aston Villa have re-found some form after a poor run. The Villans have won two of their past three league games, as many as they had managed in their previous nine. Villa have also lost just one of their five Premier League away games against Brighton.

Prediction: Brighton 1-2 Aston Villa (9/1 with Casumo)

Man City vs Leicester

Manchester City will look to return to the top four when they host relegation-battling Leicester City. Pep Guardiola’s men have won just two of their past six league games but they’re hitting a month they really love. Man City have won each of their last 13 Premier League home games in April. On the other side of this fixture, Leicester have lost their past six games without scoring. The Foxes have also lost nine of their past 10 league games against Man City, losing the past six in a row.

Prediction: Man City 4-0 Leicester (17/2 with Casumo)

Newcastle vs Brentford

Brentford are in good form away from home, winning their past five league games on the road. But Newcastle United will hoping to bring their run to an end, as the Carabao Cup party celebrations are likely to continue in their first home game since. The Magpies have won five of their seven Premier League home games against Brentford, though they did lose the most recent meeting at St James’ Park. Newcastle have also scored at least three goals in five of their past seven home league games. Brentford have scored at least two in four of their past five away league games.

Prediction: Newcastle 3-2 Brentford (14/1 with Casumo)

Southampton vs Crystal Palace

Southampton’s time in the Premier League is close to coming to an end. And Crystal Palace will expect to add to their misery. The Eagles have been phenomenal on the road of late, keeping a clean sheet in each of their past six away games across all competitions. They also boast the third-best defence in the Premier League this season behind only Arsenal and Liverpool. So, up against the worst defence and worst attack in the Premier League, the Eagles should have a field day.

Prediction: Southampton 0-3 Crystal Palace (19/2 with Casumo)

Liverpool vs Everton

The final Merseyside derby at Goodison Park was an action-packed one. But Liverpool will be hoping for a more straightforward derby at Anfield. The Reds are edging towards the Premier League title and it’s surely only a matter of time before they do confirm their 20th crown. Everton will be looking to add to Liverpool’s wait as they did at Goodison Park, but they’ve won just one of their last 24 Premier League games at Anfield. Liverpool have also won each of their past three home league games against Everton by a scoreline of 2-0.

Prediction: Liverpool 2-0 Everton (24/5 with Casumo)

Chelsea vs Tottenham

Chelsea go into gameweek 30 in fourth, but as they’re the last fixture, they could be fighting to return to the Champions League places. Games between Chelsea and Tottenham have been extremely fun for the neutral of late, with 14 goals in the three matches since Ange Postecoglou took charge of the north London club. Twelve of those goals have come at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but that doesn’t mean Stamford Bridge won’t be exciting. Chelsea have won more Premier League games and scored more Premier League goals against Tottenham than they have vs any other opponent. The Blues are also unbeaten in their past eight home games against Chelsea across all competitions.

Prediction: Chelsea 3-1 Tottenham (9/1 with Casumo)
