Published: 9:18, 21 November 2024

The 2024-25 Premier League is back after the November international break. And we’ve got some interesting fixtures in gameweek 12.

This weekend marks the start of the Ruben Amorim era at Manchester United, and the Red Devils travel to Ipswich Town. The Tractor Boys will be hoping to build on their first win of the season against Tottenham Hotspur last time out.

Tottenham are the next side hoping to add to Manchester City‘s problems when they travel to the Etihad on Saturday evening. The defending champions are five points behind early leaders Liverpool, who will be confident going into their game against Southampton.

The weekend kicks off with Leicester City hosting Chelsea, in a reunion with Enzo Maresca. The Blues boss will be hoping to get one over on his former club as Chelsea look to consolidate their place in the top four.

Newcastle United close out the gameweek on Monday, hosting West Ham United.

So, what do we think is going to happen this weekend? We’ve taken a look at all 10 matches from gameweek 12 and offered our predicted scores.

Leicester vs Chelsea

Chelsea went into the international break with just one win from their past five games, drawing three with one defeat. They drew their past two matches, against Man United and Arsenal, so will be hoping to get back to winning ways. The Blues have taken 10 points from their five games on the road so far this season. They face a Leicester side that have scored first in all five of their home league games in 2024-25, but have taken just five points from a possible 15.

Prediction: Leicester 1-3 Chelsea (9/1 with BetMGM)

Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest

Arsenal are winless in their past four Premier League games, drawing two and losing two. It’s a run that has seen the Gunners lose some ground in the early title race, now nine points behind leaders Liverpool. They’re level on points with their visitors this weekend, with Nottingham Forest flying high. The Gunners are unbeaten in their five home league games this season, with three wins and two draws. But Forest have that same record away from home, including a win over Liverpool at Anfield and draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Prediction: Arsenal 1-1 Nottingham Forest (7/1 with BetMGM)

Aston Villa vs Crystal Palace

Aston Villa have won just one of their past six Premier League games and went into the international break off the back of consecutive defeats. But they remain just one point outside the top four. Crystal Palace are at the other end of the table, sitting in the relegation zone currently one point from safety. The Eagles have managed just one win this season but they followed that up with one point from their past two matches. And they’ve only taken two points from their five away games this season.

Prediction: Aston Villa 2-1 Crystal Palace (13/2 with BetMGM)

Bournemouth vs Brighton

Bournemouth go into their game against Brighton on a run of three consecutive home victories in the Premier League. Their past two have seen the Cherries beat Arsenal and Man City. The Vitality Stadium has been a place for goals too, with nine scored across the past three matches. Brighton have been inconsistent on the road, with two wins, a draw and two defeats. But they have scored first in four of their five away league matches this season.

Prediction: Bournemouth 2-1 Brighton (7/1 with BetMGM)

Everton vs Brentford

Brentford sit 11th in the table with 16 points after 11 games. But all 16 of those points have come at home. On the road, the Bees have lost five in a row. This will be good reading for Everton, who are hoping to climb up the table. The Toffees have managed just two wins so far and sit three points above the relegation zone. Those two victories have come in their past six matches, with just one defeat during that time.

Prediction: Everton 2-1 Brentford (15/2 with BetMGM)

Fulham vs Wolves

Fulham have had a strong start to the new season, taking 18 points from their opening 11 league games. It’s a start that sees the Cottagers seventh, just one point outside the top four. Fulham won their past two games before the international break and they’ll expect to continue that run against Wolves. Gary O’Neil’s side are in the bottom three, having taken just six points so far this season. Five of those did come in their past three matches, but four were against their fellow relegation zone dwellers.

Prediction: Fulham 3-1 Wolves (21/2 with BetMGM)

Man City vs Tottenham

This is a must-win game for Man City. Pep Guardiola’s side are five points behind league leaders Liverpool, and know the Reds are likely to win the match this weekend. Man City have lost their past four matches across all competitions, including two in the league. But all four of those defeats came away from home. At the Etihad, Man City have taken 13 points from a possible 15. Tottenham, meanwhile, have lost three of their five away league games this season. They go into this one off the back of consecutive away defeats against Brighton and Crystal Palace.

Prediction: Man City 3-2 Tottenham (13/1 with BetMGM)

Southampton vs Liverpool

Sunday opens with Liverpool looking to keep their lead at the top of the table. The Reds can’t be deposed no matter what happens, but they’ll want to stay in charge of the title race. Liverpool have won nine of their 11 league games under Arne Slot, losing just once. That doesn’t make good reading for a Southampton side sitting in the relegation zone. This has been a game for goals in the past, with three of the past five meetings seeing three or more goals scored.

Prediction: Southampton 0-4 Liverpool (11/1 with BetMGM)

Ipswich vs Man United

This is the start of the Amorim era at Man United, and he’ll be hoping to hit the ground running. Man United have won just four of their opening 11 games, but are unbeaten in their past two since Erik ten Hag was sacked. They are also just four points outside the top four. Ipswich moved out of the relegation zone before the international break with their win over Tottenham. They’ve also scored in eight of their 11 league games this season.

Prediction: Ipswich 1-3 Man United (10/1 with BetMGM)

Newcastle vs West Ham

After a rocky period, Newcastle look to have found form. The Magpies won their last two matches before the international break, beating Arsenal and Nottingham Forest. West Ham, meanwhile, are winless in two after their 2-1 victory over Man United. That looked to have lifted some of the pressure on Julen Lopetegui, but it’s back on. The Hammers are also winless in their past four away games in the league, losing the last two.

Prediction: Newcastle 2-1 West Ham (11/2 with BetMGM)
