In what will come as a surprise to absolutely no one, Bayern Munich are Bundesliga champions once again after tearing their way through the 2025/26 season.
Vincent Kompany’s side dominated the division, finishing well clear of the chasing pack. They will head into the 2026/27 campaign as heavy favourites to retain their crown once again.
Which teams are expected to put up a fight?
Borussia Dortmund were the closest team to Bayern Munich when it comes to the title race, but even they could not stop the rampant German side from strolling to the title.
RB Leipzig and Stuttgart will also be hoping to mount a stronger challenge this time around. Both sides have the quality to compete at the top end of the table, but they must find a way to match Bayern’s relentless consistency.
Bundesliga relegation odds
At the other end of the table, sides will be doing all they can to stay in the Bundesliga and avoid the bottom three.
Last season, St Pauli, Heidenheim and Wolfsburg were relegated from the top flight after a difficult campaign. They have been replaced by Schalke, Elversberg and Paderborn, who will all be desperate to secure their Bundesliga status.

It was no surprise to see Harry Kane finishing the 2025/26 season as the top scorer in the Bundesliga. The Englishman netted 33 times for the champions, leaving the rest of the division in his wake.
Kane will be the overwhelming favourite to win the Golden Boot once again in 2026/27. He has established himself as the premier marksman in German football and will be hungry for more goals.
