Using underlying data from this and previous seasons, we’ve tasked our advanced AI model with creating Premier League predictions with correct score picks on every match of the 2026/27 campaign.
Our AI predictor combines data from matches in this season, previous seasons, bookmakers and more to determine the most likely correct score outcome from the game.
As the tournament progresses, the model will focus more heavily on the games that have already taken place within the tournament and it will look beyond results to input shot, possession and general match momentum data to see where value may lie.
Ipswich Town vs Liverpool
AI Prediction: 1-2
Friday night at Portman Road, and Liverpool arrive with two draws and 13th place next to their name. The underlying numbers say better is coming: 4.44 xG across the opening two rounds, 40 shots and 11 on target, a volume bettered only by Manchester United. What the Reds have not done is defend, shipping four goals and failing to keep a clean sheet in either match. Ipswich were taken apart 5-2 at Old Trafford, their goalkeeper making six saves, and they have now conceded six. The head-to-head offers the Tractor Boys little comfort either. Liverpool won both meetings in 2024/25, 2-0 on this ground and 4-1 at Anfield, with Ipswich managing a single goal across the two. Home advantage should be worth something here. It should not be worth a point.
Newcastle United vs Bournemouth
AI Prediction: 2-1
Newcastle are unbeaten and sixth, though the manner of it invites a raised eyebrow. The Magpies won 2-0 at Tottenham from 0.91 xG and two shots on target, and their goalkeeper has made nine saves in two matches. That is a side taking its chances rather than controlling games. Bournemouth have the opposite problem. The Cherries generated 2.40 xG at home to Everton, created four clear-cut chances and squandered six in total, yet came away with a 1-1 draw and sit 14th on a single point. Recent history between the pair is genuinely tight: a 2-1 win for the visitors at St James’ Park last April, a 0-0 on the south coast in September and an FA Cup shootout in January. Newcastle to edge it.
Brentford vs Sunderland
AI Prediction: 2-0
No side in the division has created more than Brentford. The Bees have racked up 48 shots and 5.58 xG in two matches, the highest figure in the league, and would be on six points had Leeds not held them to a 1-1 draw at Elland Road. Sunderland’s start has been stranger. The Black Cats have created six clear-cut chances and missed five of them, yet still took three points off Fulham with their goalkeeper untroubled, not a single save required all afternoon. Last season’s meetings split neatly: Sunderland won 2-1 on Wearside in August before Brentford’s 3-0 in west London in January. This is the harder half of that pairing for the visitors. Brentford’s volume ought to tell in the end.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Leeds United
AI Prediction: 3-1
Brighton have been the most watchable side of the season so far, and among the most careless. The Seagulls have scored seven, conceded four and thrown away seven clear-cut chances across a 4-0 win over Aston Villa and a 4-3 defeat at Stamford Bridge. Their 4.57 xG is a healthy return. Leeds have gone about it differently, grinding four points from 1.63 xG with just five shots on target in two matches and their goalkeeper making seven saves. The Whites did take the most recent meeting, 1-0 at Elland Road in May, though Brighton won the earlier fixture 3-0 at the Amex. Leeds will make it awkward and should find a goal. On the south coast, the hosts ought to find rather more.
Fulham vs Crystal Palace
AI Prediction: 1-1
Two sides yet to convince, for two different reasons. Fulham are pointless in 16th after defeats to Chelsea and Sunderland, and failed to register a single shot on target from 11 attempts on Wearside. Palace have looked marginally more dangerous with nothing to show for it, creating six clear-cut chances and missing all six, scoring once and conceding six. The Eagles’ record in this fixture is the tie-breaker. They are unbeaten in the last three meetings, winning 2-1 at Craven Cottage last December, drawing 1-1 at Selhurst Park on New Year’s Day and putting three past the Cottagers on this ground in the FA Cup. Neither defence inspires much confidence, and neither attack has looked ruthless. A share of the spoils looks about right.
Manchester City vs Coventry City
AI Prediction: 4-0
The first competitive meeting between these two, and the gap could hardly be wider. City sit top with two wins from two, 15 shots on target — bettered only by Manchester United — and 4.03 xG, having put four past Palace at Selhurst Park last week. Coventry are yet to score a Premier League goal. The Sky Blues have managed 15 attempts and four on target across defeats to Arsenal and Hull, generating 1.36 xG, and were held to 0.30 at the Emirates on the opening weekend. A promoted side can make the Etihad awkward with a low block and a clean sheet to protect, but Coventry have conceded in both games and created next to nothing at the other end. This has the look of a long afternoon.
Nottingham Forest vs Tottenham Hotspur
AI Prediction: 2-0
This one is shaped by a head-to-head that has become a genuine pattern. Forest have won the last three meetings with Spurs by an aggregate of 8-1, including 3-0 at the City Ground last December and 3-0 in north London in March. Tottenham arrive bottom of the table having failed to score in either match, which is not for want of trying: 26 shots, 10 on target, no goals and five conceded. Forest have only a point themselves, though the performance at Anfield was encouraging enough, with 2.29 xG, four clear-cut chances created and a 2-2 draw to show for it. The Tricky Trees look the more likely of two struggling sides. On this evidence, and this history, back the hosts.
Hull City vs Aston Villa
AI Prediction: 1-0
Hull are third with six points and two clean sheets, which reads rather better than it has looked. The Tigers have taken only 14 shots all season and generated 1.65 xG, the second-lowest volume in the division, so a correction is coming at some stage. It may not come against this Aston Villa. Fourth last season on 65 points, Villa have lost both matches, conceded five and have yet to put a single shot on target, mustering 13 attempts and 0.65 xG in total. The two clubs last met in the Championship in 2019, so there is no useful recent history to lean on. Something has to give in East Yorkshire. Hull’s defence has been by far the more reliable of the two.
Everton vs Manchester United
AI Prediction: 1-2
United have generated more than anyone: 5.73 xG, 54 shots and 16 on target, capped by a 5-2 win over Ipswich from 3.94 xG and 33 attempts. They also lost 2-0 at Hull on the opening weekend, so the picture is not entirely settled. Everton have been the quieter success story, sitting seventh with a win and a draw and just one goal conceded from 2.33 xG of their own. The recent history is instructive. The last two league meetings both finished 1-0 to the away side, United winning on Merseyside last February after Everton had won at Old Trafford in November. Goals may be scarce early on. United’s volume should eventually find a way through a well-organised home side.
Arsenal vs Chelsea
AI Prediction: 2-1
The champions have started as they finished, with two wins, four goals and nothing conceded. What Arsenal have not done is dominate: 2.74 xG across the two rounds is modest for a side that took the title with 71 goals scored and just 27 against. Chelsea have been far busier, scoring seven and creating nine clear-cut chances, more than any other club, from 4.81 xG. They have also shipped five, which is where this game may turn. The Gunners have won the last three meetings, including 2-1 at the Emirates in March and 3-2 at Stamford Bridge in the League Cup, so the pattern favours the hosts. Chelsea should get on the board. Arsenal’s defensive record suggests they will not need many.
