France World Cup 2026 odds: Latest price on France to lift the trophy and top goalscorer odds

France’s price to win the 2026 World Cup has shortened and they’re now favourites over Spain to lift the trophy this summer.

Managed by veteran World Cup winner Didier Deschamps, the French boast one of the best squads in international football, spearheaded by skipper Kylian Mbappe and Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembele.

Expectations are high and the pressure is on, but despite a poor first half in their opener against Senegal, they sent out a real statement in the second half by sealing a 3-1 win in their opening game.

That was followed up by another dominant if rain-affected win over Iraq, leaving les Bleus in with a strong chance of topping the group with Norway left to play.

France odds to win the World Cup

France’s odds have shortened to 4/1 with the majority of bookmakers to lift the 2026 World Cup, following those two wins. This makes them outright favourites to be crowned champions.

Les Bleus have reached the last two World Cup finals, winning the tournament in 2018 before suffering a penalty shootout defeat to Argentina in 2022. France could become only the third country to reach three consecutive finals, while victory would secure a third World Cup title.

It is worth noting, however, that France’s two World Cup triumphs did come on European soil.

France odds to win Group I

Les Bleus have already passed two those tests, beating a Senegal time stacked with the likes of Sadio Mane, Nicolas Jackson, Kalidou Koulibaly and more.

Although they cruised to a win over Iraq, Norway’s win over Senegal means that they have not yet confirmed top spot in the group. They are however, 2/9 favourites to do so at the time of writing which they would confirm by winning the final group game.

France World Cup top goalscorer odds

Kylian Mbappe has scored four goals in the first two games of his tournament and yet he still isn’t the outright favourite to finish as the top goalscorer this summer.

Lionel Messi at 7/4 has managed an incredible five goals from his first two games – but if France go a game or two further in the competition than Argentina, you’d expect Mbappe to pull clear. Interestingly, Erling Haaland is also on four so far, but he’s out at 16/1 while Mbappe is just 9/4.

There are a handful of other players in the running, including les Bleus other two goalscorers so far in Bradley Barcola and Ousmane Dembele. Realistically, if a France player scoops the Golden Boot, it’s going to be Mbappe.
