Lille vs Lens: Friday, 8.05pm (Ligue 1)

Where to watch: Ligue 1+ (streaming)

The weekend kicks off at Stade Pierre-Mauroy with the Derby du Nord, one of the fiercest rivalries in French football. Lille are third in Ligue 1 on 15 points, two behind leaders PSG. They have conceded six goals in eight games, joint-fewest in the division.

Lens are seventh on 13 points, so a win would take them above their neighbours. PSG visit bottom side Le Havre at 6pm, two hours before kick-off, so Lille will know exactly what they need to keep pace at the top.

Chelsea vs Manchester United: Saturday, 12.30pm (Premier League)

Where to watch: TNT Sports 1, with streaming on HBO Max

The lunchtime kick-off at Stamford Bridge puts two clubs in very different places against each other. Chelsea are fifth in the Premier League on 13 points, eight behind the top two. Their 17 league goals are the third-most in the division. The problem is at the other end: their 15 goals conceded are the most of any side in the top half.

Manchester United are 16th on seven points and have won one of their eight league games. As a result, they are just one point clear of the bottom three. A result in west London would ease the pressure. However, another defeat would only make it worse.

Bayern Munich vs Borussia Dortmund: Saturday, 5.30pm (Bundesliga)

Where to watch: Sky Sports Football, with streaming on Sky Go and NOW

Der Klassiker rarely comes this evenly matched. Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are both unbeaten in the Bundesliga, and both have 17 points from five wins and two draws. Bayern are top only on goal difference.

However, they have got there in different ways. Bayern have scored 25 goals, comfortably the most in Germany. Dortmund have conceded four, the fewest. That makes it the league’s best attack against its best defence at the Allianz Arena, and the winner goes top on their own. Freiburg and Bayer Leverkusen are four points back.

AC Milan vs Inter: Saturday, 7.45pm (Serie A)

Where to watch: BBC Two, free-to-air

It’s the Derby della Madonnina on Halloween night, and it’s free to watch live on BBC Two. Inter top Serie A on 25 points, unbeaten with eight wins from nine, and their 25 goals are the most in the league. Lazio are level on points, so Inter can’t afford a slip.

AC Milan are fifth on 18 points, seven off the top, and have lost only once all season. A home win at San Siro puts them back in the title race. On the other hand, a defeat would leave Inter ten points clear of Milan before November.

Liverpool vs Arsenal: Sunday, 4.30pm (Premier League)

Where to watch: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League, with streaming on Sky Go and NOW

This is the biggest game of football this weekend in England, and the result will shape the Premier League table. Arsenal go to Anfield level on 21 points with Manchester City at the top, second only on goal difference. They have won seven of eight and conceded five goals, the best defensive record in the league.

Liverpool are fourth on 15 points, six behind, with one defeat and three draws so far. A home win would cut the gap to three and drag them into the title race. However, an Arsenal win would leave Liverpool nine points back after just nine games.

Juventus vs Napoli: Sunday, 7.45pm (Serie A)

Where to watch: TNT Sports 1 and DAZN, with Prime Video and HBO Max also listed

Sunday night in Turin feels like a game neither side can afford to lose. Juventus and Napoli both have 14 points and sit eighth and seventh, 11 points behind Inter and Lazio and six off the top four.

Napoli have been sharper going forward, with 17 goals to Juventus’ 11. On the other hand, Juve have been tighter at the back, conceding ten. With a quarter of the season gone, the loser drifts further from the Champions League places.

Athletic Club vs Real Sociedad: Sunday, 8.00pm (La Liga)

Where to watch: Premier Sports 1 and Premier Sports Player

Which game of football this weekend should you watch?

If you only have time for one, make it Bayern vs Dortmund on Sky Sports Football: two unbeaten sides, level on points, with the outright Bundesliga lead at stake. Meanwhile, Liverpool vs Arsenal is a close second and will have the bigger say in the Premier League title race. And with the Milan derby on Saturday and Juventus vs Napoli on Sunday, both nights end with a big game in Italy.

League positions and statistics correct as of Friday 30 October 2026.
