The Premier League action continues this weekend with Gameweek 7 getting underway, spread across three days.
Everton and Chelsea open the weekend when they face off on Saturday afternoon, with Manchester City, Liverpool and Aston Villa also in action. But Sunday is just as busy, due to Europa League pushing games back. Leeds United host Manchester United in what will be a big clash, while Arsenal travel to Nottingham Forest.

The weekend comes to an end with Tottenham Hotspur looking to end their winless start against Coventry City.
Read on for the best Premier League stats you might see in Gameweek 7.
Stats you might see in Gameweek 7
Everton vs Chelsea
- Everton are looking to remain unbeaten after the first seven games of a Premier League season for just the second time.
Another week has gone and Everton are still unbeaten. They extended their run with a 2-2 draw against Hull City last weekend, in which they initially came from a goal down. It was their fourth draw of the season, and third in a row. While that might feel underwhelming, Everton will be hoping the run does continue to give themselves something extra to celebrate.
The Toffees have only gone unbeaten in their first seven games of a Premier League season once before. David Moyes was the man in charge then, in the 2007/07 season, when Everton won three and drew four of their opening seven matches. Everton may fancy their chances with Chelsea this weekend, winning six of their past eight home games against the Blues.
Man City vs Ipswich
- Enzo Maresca could become the first manager to win their first seven Premier League games at a club.
Enzo Maresca could make history this weekend. In Man City’s 3-0 win over Liverpool, he became just the fourth manager to win his opening six Premier League games at a club. The Italian joined Carlo Ancelotti, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Pep Guardiola in achieving the feat. But they all stopped at six. No manager has gone seven in a row unbeaten to start their Premier League reign at a club.
Man City could also become just the third team to win their first seven games of a Premier League season. Chelsea the first to do so in 2005/06, while Liverpool matched them in 2019/10. Both teams went on to win the title that season. But Man City have been perfect after six games twice before, in 2016/17 and 2023/24, failing to win their seventh match on both occasions.
Fulham vs Hull
- Fulham are looking to avoid a first ever seven-game winless start to the Premier League.
Alvaro Arbeloa continues to struggle in the Premier League. Fulham sit bottom of the table after six games, still awaiting their first win. The Cottagers looked like they might have steadied their ship with draws against Liverpool and Manchester United. But then the international break came, and Fulham returned with a late defeat to Ipswich Town.
That defeat to Ipswich came despite Fulham taking the lead, an all-too-familiar occurrence for the Cottagers. They’ve now dropped eight points from winning positions in the Premier League this season, the second-most in the division. Fulham are now hoping to avoid history. They’ve never gone seven games at the start of a Premier League season without winning. This is the third time Fulham have gone winless after six, but in both 2011/12 and 2020/21 the Cottagers won their seventh match.
Brentford vs Liverpool
- Brentford are seeking a history-making seven-game unbeaten start to a top-flight campaign.
Another team chasing history this weekend are Brentford. The Bees are one of three teams still unbeaten in the Premier League this season, though they are closer to Everton than Man City. Keith Andrews‘ side have won two and drawn four of their six games so far, which is enough to place them fourth — ahead of Everton on goal difference. Brentford went into the international break off the back of a 3-0 win over Chelsea and returned with a draw against Aston Villa.
Up next are a Liverpool side who have just experienced league defeat for the first time under Andoni Iraola. And Brentford will be hoping they have what it takes to add to the Reds’ misery. Should they do so, it’d be the first time Brentford have gone unbeaten in their first seven games of a top-flight season. The Bees beat Liverpool 3-2 at home last season, so they know they are capable of achieving the victory.
Newcastle vs Aston Villa
- Aston Villa will be hoping to win back-to-back Premier League matches at St James’ Park for the first time.
Neither of these sides will be happy with their starts to the season. Newcastle United may sit higher in 11th but they come into this game off the back of a 4-1 humbling at the hands of Coventry. It’s now two defeats from three for the Magpies. Aston Villa, meanwhile, got their first league win before the international break, beating Tottenham. But they followed that up with a draw against Brentford.
There’s a lot of pressure on Newcastle to win at home, and they are unbeaten in their past five league games at St James’ Park. But Aston Villa won on their last visit. In fact, they’re looking to win back-to-back Premier League matches at St James’ Park for the first time. Emiliano Buendia and Ollie Watkins scored the goals when Villa won 2-0 in January, ending a 21-year wait for victory on the road.
Leeds vs Man Utd
- Leeds are looking for a first home league win over Man Utd since 2002.
The pressure is piling on Michael Carrick. Man Utd are now winless in their past five games across all competitions, losing two with three draws. In the league alone that run stands at four, and they’ve endured their worst start to a season in 40 years. Not a good time to play fierce rivals Leeds, even though the Whites have won one of their past five.
Leeds beat Man Utd in Old Trafford when they last met, with a Noah Okafor brace securing a first ever away Premier League win for the Whites. They’ve never won back-to-back Premier League games against Man Utd, and are also seeking a rare home win. Leeds haven’t beaten Man Utd at Elland Road in the league since September 2002, with Harry Kewell scoring the only goal. There have only been five games since, but Man Utd have won two alongside three draws.
Brighton vs Crystal Palace
- Pascal Gross could provide an assist in four consecutive Premier League games for the first time.
Pascal Gross was named Premier League Player of the Month for September, after three assists in two goals in there games. And he continued that run after the international break. The German set up Maxim De Cuyper‘s opening goal as Brighton and Hove Albion beat Sunderland 2-0, the third consecutive game in which he has assisted. He became the oldest player to assist in there successive Premier League games since Ryan Giggs in 2012.
Now, though, Gross is looking for more. He has never provided an assist in four consecutive Premier League games before. Gross has achieved the feat in the Bundesliga, though the four appearances came across two seasons with Borussia Dortmund — three in 2024/25 and one in 2025/26. The German would still be a few assists short of the Premier League record, though, with Mesut Ozil assisting in seven consecutive matches in 2015.
Bournemouth vs Sunderland
- Bournemouth could go winless in their first seven games of a Premier League season for just the second time.
Another stat that a team will be hoping to avoid. Bournemouth are still awaiting their first Premier League win of the season, with three draws and three defeats from six games. They sit 18th in the table and go into this game hurting following a 5-1 thrashing by Chelsea, and there aren’t any obvious signs of a change in form. Marco Rose does need something to change though.
The Cherries are without a win in their past eight league games stretching back to last season, the seventh-time they’ve gone as many Premier League matches without victory. But their run has only stretched to nine games three times. Bournemouth have also only failed to win any of their first six games at the start of a Premier League season once before. That came in 2023/24 and was part of a record 13-game winless run including the end of 2022/23. The Cherries lost game nine of 2023/24, before finally ending the run with a 2-1 win over Burnley in their 10th match.
Nottingham Forest vs Arsenal
- Nottingham Forest have failed to score in their past four games against Arsenal, never having gone five in a row without victory.
This hasn’t been a happy start to the season for Nottingham Forest. The Tricky Trees are winless in their first three home league games this season, and could join an infamous group. Only Everton (1998/99), Huddersfield and Crystal Palace (both 2018/19) have failed tow in their first four home games of a Premier League season. And it does look likely.
Forest have struggled for goals this season, scoring just five from 10.52 Expected Goals — the second-highest in the league. They face a stern Arsenal defence, something they have failed to break down recently. Arsenal are on a run of four successive clean sheets against Nottingham Forest, with two 3-0 wins and two goalless draws. They’ve never gone five in a row without conceding against Forest.
Tottenham vs Coventry
- Coventry could win three consecutive Premier League games for the first time since 1998.
The weekend rounds off with Coventry’s trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. And the Sky Blues are flying high. After losing each of their opening four league games, all without scoring, Coventry have two wins from two. They went into the international break with a 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest, before beating Newcastle 4-1 on Monday. It’s another Monday night meeting for Coventry this week, against a Tottenham side still waiting for their first win of the season.
Spurs are already on their second-worst winless start in the Premier League. They only fared worse in 2008/09, when it took them nine games for their first win. Tottenham sit 19th with just three points from three games, and only snatched one of those points in injury time against Man Utd last weekend. Roberto De Zerbi‘s side aren’t strong opposition, so Coventry will be hoping for a third consecutive Premier League win for the first time since February 1998. That came as part of a five-game winning run, in which Coventry scored 12 and conceded just two. Sky Blues fans can only hope it’s a similar story.
