Morocco are through to quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup after beating co-hosts Canada on Saturday evening.
The Atlas Lions finished second in Group G, having kicked off their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Brazil. They then scored an early goal to beat Scotland 1-0 in Boston, before rounding off the group with a 4-2 victory over Haiti.
That set up a last-32 tie against the Netherlands, which Morocco were the underdogs for. But they scored a late equaliser to eventually take the game to penalties, knocking out the European side. Morocco then beat co-hosts Canada 3-0 in the last-16 to keep their tournament going.
Morocco odds to win the World Cup
Morocco are now the shortest-priced African team at this summer’s World Cup. That’s hardly unsurprising when you consider the quality they possess in their squad through experienced star players like Achraf Hakimi and Brahim Diaz. Add to that the fact that they reached the semi-final stage four years ago in Qatar and it’s clear that they are best placed to go deep in the tournament of all CAF teams this summer.
After beating the Netherlands and Canada, Morroco have seen their odds trimmed once again with some bookmakers.

Ismael Saibari scored three goals in three group stage games for Morocco to see his Golden Boot odds slashed dramatically. But he has blanked in his past two appearances, with current odds around 150/1. He has his work cut out to chase down Lionel Messi who is now odds-on favourite having scored seven goals in four games.
