France Women are looking to win their first ever major trophy at the European Championship this summer.
Read on to see their fixtures for Women’s Euro 2025, odds to win the tournament and potential route to the final.
Latest France odds to win Women’s Euro 2025
France are third-favourites with a lot of bookmakers to win Women’s Euro 2025. Les Bleues were rated around 5/1 to win in Switzerland before a ball was kicked, and their odds remain similar as they prepare for the quarter-finals. Opta’s pre-tournament predictions from May gave France a 16% chance of going all the way in Switzerland.
France Women’s Euro 2025 preview
France didn’t have the most ideal preparation for Euro 2025. Wendie Renard, Kenza Dali and Eugenie Le Sommer were all left out of their squad, creating a lot of headlines. France boss Laurent Bonadei insisted it wasn’t a spur of the moment decision, but it’s one that put a lot of pressure on him bringing success.
As part of his explanation, Bonadei quoted Albert Einstein’s famous line of insanity being doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.
France Women’s Euro 2025 group stage results
France topped their Euro 2025 qualifying group, winning four of their six games. Drawn with defending champions England, 2017 winners the Netherlands, and debutants Wales, they were given a 39% chance of winning Group D per Opta’s pre-tournament predictions, and 33% to finish second. However, Les Bleues were in inspired form during their opening three matches, scoring 11 goals and collecting maximum points.
Matchday 1: France 2-1 England
- Date: Saturday 5th July
- Venue: Stadion Letzigrund, Zurich
- Kick-off: 8pm (UK time)
France got off to the best possible start in Switzerland, beating defending champions England 2-1. Les Bleues had to ride out an early storm and were buoyed by England having a disallowed goal. Marie-Antoinette Katoto and Sandy Baltimore scored France’s goals, and England only got one back late on. What a way to start the toughest group.
Matchday 2: France 4-1 Wales
- Date: Wednesday 9th July
- Venue: Arena St Gallen, St Gallen
- Kick-off: 8pm (UK time)
Wales were the minnows of the group and weren’t expected to put up much of a battle against France. Although they did equalise after Clara Mateo’s opener, Wales’ resolve eventually ran out. Kadidiatou Diani scored a penalty to put France ahead just before half-time, with Amel Majri and Grace Geyoro netting in the second half. France just needed a point from their final game to top the group.
Matchday 3: Netherlands 2-5 France
- Date: Sunday 13th July
- Venue: St Jakob-Park, Basel
- Kick-off: 8pm (UK time)
These sides last met in the quarter-finals of Euro 2022, with France winning 1-0 after extra-time. That was en route to France’s best-ever European Championship finish. But the Netherlands looked like they would avenge that defeat when they came from behind to lead 2-1 at half-time. Nevertheless, Les Bleues found another gear after the break. Marie-Antoinette Katoto levelled, before a Delphine Cascarino brace and Sakina Karchaoui’s stoppage-time penalty helped them secure top spot.
France route to the Women’s Euro 2025 final
- Quarter-finals: As Group D winners, France will face Group C runners-up Germany.
- Semi-finals: Should they progress, either Group B winners Spain or Group A runners-up Switzerland would be next.
- Final: The likes of reigning champions England, Sweden or Norway could await Les Bleues in the showpiece on July 27.
