Women’s Euro 2025 outright odds: Favourites and analysis as England look to retain crown

The 2025 Women’s European Championship takes place this summer, with 16 teams vying to lift the trophy on 27th July.
Women’s Euro 2025 outight odds
Switzerland are the hosts of this summer’s tournament, the 14th edition of the Women’s European Championship, as the game continues to grow. There have been five different winners of the Women’s Euros, with Germany leading the way on eight — more than any other four nations combined. Norway are the only other team to lift the trophy more than once.
England are the defending champions, having beaten Germany 2-1 after extra-time in the final at Wembley in 2022. Sarina Wiegman’s side will be looking to become just the second nation to successfully defend the European crown after Germany. Can they do it?
Women’s Euro 2025 favourites
Spain
Spain are the defending world champions and the best team on the planet right now. So it’s no surprise to see them favourites to win Euro 2025. There’s an argument to be made that Spain would have won Euro 2022 had Alexia Putellas and Jenni Hermoso not suffered injuries before the tournament, ruling them out. Although they did suffer a bit of a rocky patch over the Olympics lats year and some friendlies after, Spain are back on top. They’ve won five of their past six games, including three in the Uefa Nations League. Two of the teams to lose to Spain in that time will be in their Euro 2025 group, with Belgium and Portugal already suffering this year at the hands of La Roja. They’re favourites for a reason.
England
As mentioned, England are the defending champions. But this isn’t the same side that lifted the trophy in 2022. Although England are still one of the best, they are certainly vulnerable. And more teams are working out how to stop them. Even in qualifying, England had to settle for second in their group, finishing behind France. France are one of the three teams in England’s Women’s Euro 2025 group, and it’s a tough one, with Netherlands and Wales also involved.
France
France are yet to make it to a Women’s European Championship final, reaching the semi-finals for the first time in 2022. There, they were beaten by eventual runners-up Germany, after three successive quarter-final exits. France are definitely growing once again as a top European nation, finishing first in their qualifying group with four wins from six. But, of course, they are also in the toughest group of Euro 2025 alongside England, Netherlands and Wales.

Germany
The most-successful side in Women’s European Championship history and 2022’s runners-up, Germany have had to settle for the dark horses role in recent tournaments. But they won’t care. Germany had a good chance of winning Euro 2022 at Wembley, but suffered a blow with Alexandra Popp’s injury just before the final. Last year, Germany took bronze at the 2024 Olympics, beating Spain for that medal. Germany are unbeaten so far this year, with three wins from four in their Uefa Nations League group. Germany have an interesting, but negotiable, group in Switzerland, facing Poland, Denmark and Sweden.
Sweden
Sweden were the first women’s European champions, lifting the trophy in 1984, but they haven’t reached a final since 2001. Despite that, you can almost always count on Sweden to go far in the tournaments, such is the quality they have. They were losing semi-finalists in 2022 and finished third at the World Cup in 2023, beating United States along the way.
