Netherlands Women are one-time European champions, and they’ll be looking to add a second crown when they travel to Switzerland this summer. Read on to see their fixtures for Women’s Euro 2025, odds to win the tournament and potential routes to the final.
Latest Netherlands odds to win Women’s Euro 2025
Netherlands were among the lower outsiders to win Euro 2025. Opta’s pre-tournament predictions from May give the Netherlands a 5% chance of winning Euro 2025.
But they’ve now dropped to 100/1 after losing their second game. That brings an implied probability of 0.99%. The Netherlands need a lot to go their way if they are to reach the quarter-finals.
Netherlands Women’s Euro 2025 preview
As mentioned, the Netherlands are previous winners of the Women’s European Championship, lifting the trophy in 2017. But their defence five years later saw them knocked out in the quarter-finals. Netherlands finished second in their qualifying group, behind Italy on head-to-head. It was an underwhelming campaign in which Netherlands only scored four goals in their six games, drawing three alongside two wins and one defeat.
There are some exciting young stars in the Netherlands’ squad, joining the more experienced heads like Sherida Spitse and Danielle van de Donk. Vivianne Miedema will also be looking to make her mark, having netted her 100th goal against Wales
Netherlands Women’s Euro 2025 group stage odds and predictions
Netherlands finished second in their Euro 2025 qualifying group and were placed in Pot 3 when the final tournament was drawn. That gave the Netherlands a tough group against France, England and Wales. Opta’s pre-tournament predictions gave Netherlands a 19% chance of finishing first, while they were 27% to finish second.
Matchday 1: Wales 0-3 Netherlands
- Date: Saturday 5th July
- Venue: Allmend Stadion Luzern, Lucerne
- Kick-off: 5pm (UK time)
Netherlands’ tournament got off to the best possible start. They haven’t had any problems against Wales in the past, and that continued here. Vivianne Miedema scoring her 100th international goal was the highlight of the game, coming just before half-time. Victoria Pelova and Esmee Brugts added to the scoreline after half-time.
Matchday 2: England 4-0 Netherlands
- Date: Wednesday 9th July
- Venue: Stadion Letzigrund, Zurich
- Kick-off: 5pm (UK time)
A matchup against their former boss, the Netherlands could have helped send Sarina Wiegman and England packing. But the Oranje were unable to build on their opening win over Wales, instead losing 4-0. England scored two goals in either half, and now it’s Netherlands’ future that hangs in the balance.
Matchday 3: Netherlands vs France
- Date: Sunday 13th July
- Venue: St Jakob-Park, Basel
- Kick-off: 8pm (UK time)
France beat the Netherlands when they met in the quarter-finals of Euro 2022, ending the Oranje‘s defence. Netherlands need a big win over France to realistically have a chance of reaching the quarter-finals. Victory alone would be enough if England drop points against Wales.
Netherlands route to the final
If Netherlands win Group D:
- Quarter-finals: If the Netherlands win Group D, they’d face the runners-up of Group C. At the moment, that’s Germany.
- Semi-finals: The Group B winners or Group A runners-up await in the semi-finals, expected to be Spain.
- Final: Sweden and Norway are among potential opponents in the final, though there could be a rematch against the Group D runners-up.
If Netherlands finish second in Group D:
- Quarter-finals: If Netherlands finish as Group D runners-up, they face the winners of Group C, which could be Sweden as things stand.
- Semi-finals: In the semi-finals, they’d face either the winners of Group A or Group B’s runners-up. That’s likely to be one of Norway or Italy.
- Final: Spain would be the expected opponent in the final, unless they suffer an upset along the way.
