Our final round of Premier League stats take centre stage this weekend before a lengthy three-week pause for the international break.
A number of managers stumble into Gameweek 5 under pressure, with teams desperate to scrape points and even goals, while champions Arsenal go chasing a perfect 10.

Brentford vs Chelsea
- Chelsea could concede for the 21st Premier League match in a row.
Chelsea have been the entertainers so far this season. Their matches have contained more goals (19) than any other Premier League club, scoring 10 and conceding 9.
Both teams to score backers will be pleased to see that this bet has not only landed in all four of Chelsea’s league games, but each of Brentford’s last five league and cup clashes.
The Chelsea defence will be desperate for some respite. As should they leak another goal on Friday night, it will extend their shocking run to 21 Premier League games without a clean sheet.
Funnily enough, Brentford were the last team they kept a clean sheet against in a 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge back in mid-January.
Brighton vs Arsenal
- Arsenal could win 10 Premier League games in a row for the first time in 24 years.
Arsenal sit pretty at the top of the table after recording four wins from four games. Brighton away will undoubtedly represent a tough obstacle, but should the Gunners return to the capital with all three points it will be the third time that they’ve started a Premier League season with five wins on the spin.
It will also be their tenth league win in a row, following the five wins at the end of their title-winning 2025/26 season. Arsenal haven’t won 10 successive league games since the days of Arsene Wenger back in the second-half of the 2001/02 campaign.
Tottenham vs Aston Villa
- If Tottenham lose they will match their worst-ever start to a Premier League season after five games (2 points in 2008/09).
Tottenham (17th) and Aston Villa (19th) both go searching for their first Premier League win of the season. Though, history tells us, we could have a winner this weekend, with none of the last 22 league clashes between the sides ending level.
Spurs are also still waiting for their first goal, having failed to score in each of their opening four league games for the first time in their history. A defeat for Roberto De Zerbi’s side would see them match their worst-ever start to a Premier League season after five games, having collected just two points at the same stage in 2008/09.
Aston Villa, meanwhile, will be hoping to avoid their own slice of unwanted history. Failure to win would mean they have started a top-flight season without a victory after five games for only the fourth time (1919/20, 1964/65 and 2025/26).
Newcastle vs Hull City
- If Hull City win, it will be the joint-second best start to a Premier League season – after five games – by a promoted side.
Hull City are unbeaten after four games, picking up eight points to date. The Tigers have won both of their previous Premier League visits to St James’ Park, and a third this weekend would see them accumulate 11 points after five games.
This means Hull would have the joint second-best start by a newly promoted club alongside Blackburn (1992/93). Only Nottingham Forest in 1994/95 (13 points) would have accrued more points after five games.
Everton vs Ipswich Town
- Everton could start a Premier League season five games unbeaten for only the fifth time in 35 seasons.
Everton are 9th in the table with six points from four games, three of which have been draws.
The Toffees have only gone five games without defeat at the start of a Premier League season four times in 34 campaigns. The first of these came under David Moyes exactly 20 years ago in 2006/07.
As for Ipswich, they will be hoping to end a club-record 23-game run without a clean sheet in the top flight.
Nottingham Forest vs Coventry City
- Coventry City could become only the second club to begin a Premier League season with five successive defeats without scoring after Crystal Palace 2017/18.
Coventry, 20th, are the only Premier League club yet to pick up a point this season. They’ve played four games and have lost them all without even scoring.
If Coventry suffer another defeat away to Nottingham Forest then they will become the seventh team in Premier League history to lose each of their opening five games.
If the Sky Blues lose to nil then they will become only the second ever side to do this after Crystal Palace in 2017/18. The Eagles actually lost each of their opening seven games to nil, but did manage to stay up in the end with an impressive 11th place finish.
Man City vs Sunderland
- Erling Haaland has scored against 24 of the 25 Premier League teams he’s faced, leaving Sunderland as his only unfinished business.
Erling Haaland has the chance to finally break his Sunderland duck this weekend. The Black Cats are the only Premier League side he has faced without scoring against.
The Norwegian has found the back of the net against 24 of the 25 sides he has come up against in England’s top flight. He can go on to make it 25 out of 25 when Man City host Regis Le Bris’ side this weekend.
Haaland has played Sunderland twice, both meetings coming last season, but failed to score in either game.
Leeds United v Crystal Palace
- Leeds can match their highest ever points tally (11) after five Premier League games.
Leeds have enjoyed a superb start to the season with eight points from four games, which puts them 3rd in the table.
The 2001/02 Premier League season was their best five-game start (11 pts), a points tally they can match with a win at home to Crystal Palace.
Daniel Farke’s side have won four of their last five Premier League games at Elland Road, drawing the other.

Bournemouth vs Liverpool
- If Alexander Isak scores he will have more Premier League goals (4) after five games this season, than the 2025/26 campaign (3).
Alexander Isak can surpass his entire Premier League goal return from last season when Liverpool travel down to the south coast to face Bournemouth.
Isak scored just three top-flight goals in a frustrating injury-plagued debut season with the Reds. But he’s now making up for lost time with three goals in his opening four games; a tally he’ll be hungry to enhance against the Cherries.
Fulham vs Manchester United
- If Manchester United lose to Fulham they will have the fewest points (4) after five Premier League games in their Premier League history.
Manchester United failed to bounce back from the controversial derby day defeat after they were booted out of the Carabao Cup by Brighton. The Red Devils led the Seagulls 2-0 but the visitors soared back to claim yet another win at Old Trafford.
There’s no doubt that boss Michael Carrick is under a degree of pressure in the Sack Race right now. If Man United lose away to Fulham on Sunday they will have suffered their worst start (4 points) ever to a Premier League season after five games.
This would be even worse than the current record held by Louis Van Gaal’s 2014/15 side, who had registered just five points after five games.
