Uzbekistan are one of four countries who made their first ever World Cup appearance in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
The White Wolves didn’t manage to get off to a winning start to life in Group K, but pushed Colombia hard in a 3-1 defeat in Mexico.
Uzbekistan may not be known as a footballing hotbed, but they have made steady improvements in recent years and as 2025 winners of the CAFA Nations Cup they can’t be dismissed. There have already been a couple of shocks at the tournament and, who knows, maybe they can stun Portugal in their next game.
You can never underestimate the passion of a nation competing in their first World Cup even if they do find themselves in a tough group.
Uzbekistan odds to win the World Cup
Uzbekistan have long odds of 1500/1 to win the World Cup. After scoring their very first goal at the tournament, the focus will now switch to picking up their first points.
Qualifying from the group, as you can see from the odds below, would be a huge achievement and in all honestly the White Wolves will likely be happy if they can just avoid defeat in one of their group stage matches, with the game against DR Congo no doubt stamped in their diaries.
Uzbekistan odds to win Group K
Drawn alongside Colombia, Portugal, and DR Congo, Uzbekistan were handed a tough draw – but progression to the knock-out stages is not out of the question, despite losing their opening game against Colombia.
Topping the group however, probably is. Portugal, led by Cristiano Ronaldo, are the odds-on favourites, but Conmebol outfit Colombia possess a strong squad too and both will expect to beat Uzbekistan with relative ease – hence odds as long as 28/1 with some bookmakers on Uzbekistan to win Group K.
Uzbekistan World Cup top goalscorer odds
Uzbekistan aren’t expected to challenge in the top goalscorer market, but Abbosbek Fayzullaev made history by scoring their first ever World Cup goal against Colombia. He’s now entered the market at 200/1.
Striker and captain Eldor Shomurodov is arguably the country’s biggest goal threat in this side and he has a fine record at international level. However, he’s a four figure price at 1000/1.
