Latest Sweden odds to win Women’s Euro 2025
Sweden are the fourth-favourites with most bookmakers to win Euro 2025. But there’s a big gap between them and the teams above them. Sweden are ranked around 10/1 to win the competition, working out to an implied probability of 9.1%. According to Opta’s pre-tournament predictions from May, Sweden had a 6% chance of winning Euro 2025.
Sweden Women’s Euro 2025 preview
Since lifting the first edition of the trophy in 1984, Sweden have only reached the final of the Women’s European Championship three times. And it’s been 24 years since their last appearance, when they were beaten by Germany. Despite their longevity in women’s football, Sweden haven’t been fancied for a few tournaments with some doubts surrounding their squad. But the likes of Fridolina Rolfo, Madelen Janogy and Kosovare Asllani will be hoping to inspire.
Sweden Women’s Euro 2025 group stage results
Sweden had to work hard for their spot at Euro 2025. They finished third in their qualifying group and had to go through the play-offs, though they beat Luxembourg and Serbia very comfortably in the end. Sweden were placed in an interesting group alongside Germany, Denmark and Poland. Opta’s pre-tournament predictions had Sweden at 27% to win Group C and 33% to finish second.
Matchday 1: Denmark 0-1 Sweden
- Date: Friday 4th July
- Venue: Stade de Geneve, Geneva
- Kick-off: 5pm (UK time)
Sweden started their tournament against Scandinavian rivals Denmark, who they’ve faced more than any other opponent. Sweden had already beaten them twice this year and they added a third victory in Switzerland. This one was as close as predicted, with Filippa Angeldahl scoring the only goal of the game in the second half. Sweden could realistically seal their spot in the quarter-finals with a win in their second game.
Matchday 2: Poland 0-3 Sweden
- Date: Tuesday 8th July
- Venue: Allmend Stadion Luzern, Lucerne
- Kick-off: 8pm (UK time)
Sweden booked their spot in the quarter-finals thanks to a 3-0 win over newcomers Poland. This shouldn’t have been a surprise, with Sweden now winning all nine of their previous meetings, scoring 34 with just three conceded. Stina Blackstenius, Kosovare Asllani and Lina Hurtig got the goals for Sweden, who need just a point to top Group C.
Matchday 3: Sweden 4-1 Germany
- Date: Monday 12th July
- Venue: Stadion Letzigrund, Zurich
- Kick-off: 8pm (UK time)
This was the first competitive meeting since Euro 2017, and everything was on the line, with both teams tied on points. This match would determine who finishes as the group winner and the runner-up. Germany broke the deadlock early, with Jule Brand scoring within the first 10 minutes. However, the Swedes quickly found their rhythm, with Stina Blackstenius and Smilla Holmberg both finding the net. The situation intensified when Carlotta Wamser received a straight red card. Fridolina Rolfo then converted a penalty, and Lina Hurtig capped off the convincing victory in the final stages of the match.
Sweden route to the final
- Quarter-finals: As winners of Group C, Sweden will face Group D runners-up England.
- Semi-finals: The Group A winners or Group B runners-up will await in the semi-final — either Norway or Italy.
- Final: Unless there’s an upset, Spain would be the most likely final opponent.
