For the first time since 2005/06, Arsenal go into a Premier League campaign as the defending champions. The Gunners’ success last season came after three runners-up finishes, including two in agonising fashion. There were also worries of a potential wobble late on, with Manchester City chasing.
But Arsenal had the quality to see out the season and finally end their long wait for the Premier League title. Now they’re looking to retain it. No team outside of Man City have managed to retain the Premier League since Manchester United did three in a row between 2006/07 and 2008/09. Arsenal themselves have only ever retained the league title twice, as part of a three-peat between 1932/33 and 1934/35.
The Gunners go into the new season as favourites to win the title, ahead of Man City, Liverpool, Man Utd and Chelsea.
Arsenal odds to finish in the 2026/27 Premier League top four: Outright odds and predictions
It would take quite something for Arsenal to not even finish in the top four in the Premier League this season. It’s something they haven’t done since 2021/22, when they had to settle for fifth — missing out by two points.
But even that could be enough to seal Champions League football, depending on how well English teams do in Europe this season. And, of course, that is the main goal for a top-four finish.
You do only have to go back to last season for the most-recent time a defending Premier League champion failed to finish in the top four. But, again, Liverpool’s fifth-placed finish did still secure Champions League football.

Arsenal odds to finish in the 2026/27 Premier League top six: Outright odds and predictions
Mikel Arteta’s side finishing outside the top six of the 2026/27 Premier League would be unthinkable. Leicester City were the last defending Premier League champions to finish outside the top six, when they followed up a historic title by finishing 12th.
Of course, that’s not a trend that Arsenal are set to follow. Although they did finish eighth as recently as 2020/21 (having also done so in 2019/20), the Gunners are a completely different club from that period of struggle. They are also the only two times Arsenal have finished outside the top six this century, with just two more (10th in 1992-93 and 12th in 1994/95) occurrences coming in the Premier League era.

Arsenal Golden Boot odds: Outright odds and predictions
No Arsenal player has won the Premier League Golden Boot since 2018/19, when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang shared the prize. He scored 22 goals across the season, matching Sadio Made and Mo Salah’s tally. But only Liverpool (eight) have had more Golden Boot wins than Arsenal’s six.
Viktor Gyokeres was Arsenal’s top scorer in the Premier League last season, netting 14 goals. But he was some 13 off Erling Haaland, who romped to another Golden Boot. Gyokeres is Arsenal’s highest-ranked player so far in the 2026/27 odds, but he isn’t overly fancied right now.

Three Arsenal players made the top six for the 2025/26 PFA Players’ Player of the Year award in the Premier League. Declan Rice, Gabriel Magalhaes and David Raya all made the shortlist for their roles in the league title win. But the winner won’t be announced until 25th August.
Arsenal Golden Glove odds: Outright odds and predictions
David Raya won the Premier League Golden Glove in 2025/26, taking the award for the third season in a row. He shared the award with Matz Sels in 2024/25 with 13 clean sheets, but recorded an impressive 19 shutouts last season.
The award is presented to the goalkeeper who records the most clean sheets over the course of the season. Edwin van der Sar (2008/09) and Alisson (2018/19) hold the record for the most clean sheets in a single Premier League season, with 21 each.
Arsenal ins and outs
Arsenal have been pretty busy to date, looking to improve their title-winning squad. Piero Hincapie has joined permanently after his loan move in 2025/26, while Christos Tzolis has come in to provide depth at left-wing. Illan Meslier has also joined the goalkeeping roster.
Leandro Trossard has left the club, though, ending a fine spell at the Emirates Stadium. Jakub Kiwior and Karl Hein have also departed, after loan moves last season.
