Group K at World Cup 2026 is one full of intrigue, with a debutant sitting alongside a contender to go all the way in North America.
Portugal headline Group K, where they have been joined by the returning Colombia, debutants Uzbekistan, as well as DR Congo.
Portugal’s campaign didn’t get off to the best of starts, following a shock draw against DR Congo. They then thrashed Uzbekistan but are still second to Colombia, who took an early lead at the top thanks to back-to-back victories.
Those two will then face off in a decisive encounter next Matchday.

World Cup 2026 Group K Fixtures
Portugal opened Group K with a surprise 1-1 draw against DR Congo, which was followed by Colombia’s 3-1 victory over Uzbekistan, who lost on their World Cup debut.
Matchday two saw Uzbekistan have to contend with a Portugal side who were gunning to bounce back from their disappointing draw. And that’s exactly what Portugal did, beating the Asian side 5-0. The other match in Group K saw Colombia make it two wins from two after taking on DR Congo.
The final Group K games take place at the same time on Sunday 28th June. Portugal and Colombia go head-to-head in a game that could decide who tops the table. Uzbekistan and DR Congo face off in the other match on matchday three.
World Cup 2026 Group K Results
Portugal remain the favourites to come out on top in Group K, despite being slow out of the blocks and currently sitting second to the very team they will play next.
There is more than a little bit of market interest in Colombia to finish top, considering their fine form. DR Congo and Uzbekistan can no longer win the group.
