Liverpool team news vs West Ham and predicted lineup

Liverpool will look to make it three straight wins in the Premier League for the first time since December when hosting West Ham United on Saturday.

The Reds are still struggling for consistent performances. But at least results have come back around as of late.

Liverpool predicted lineup vs West Ham

Liverpool (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Szoboszlai, Konate, van Dijk, Kerkez; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Gakpo, Ngumoha; Ekitike.

Arne Slot’s men have won each of the last three across all competitions — and five of the last six. The exception was the dramatic home loss to Manchester City after scoring first and conceding twice after the 80th minute.

Up next are West Ham, which is not the easy fixture it was when both sides met back in November. The Hammers have been playing much better football recently, having lost just one of their last eight matches overall.

It was a heartbreaker as well, as they gave up a two-goal lead at half-time to Chelsea in the final 45 minutes.

Liverpool team news vs West Ham

The Reds remain short at the back, with Giovanni Leoni, Connor Bradley and Wataru Endo all out long term — as well as Alexander Isak.

Hugo Ekitike is likely to retain the starting spot depiste the recent goal drought – his second longest with the Liverpool shirt. It’s now four games without finding the net (eight between October and December).

But with no competition, he’s likely to get the nod. And fans should trust his track record – goals should eventually come back around.

Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz missed out on the Reds’ win at Nottingham Forest last time around. Arne Slot hopes that both will be available, but could choose not to force things with either of them. Considering their poor injury luck this season, he can never be too careful.

Ngumoha’s first start?

This could open up space for youngster Rio Ngumoha to get the first Premier League start of his career.

The 17-year-old had an impressive cameo off the bench at The City Ground. Liverpool fans started pushing for him to feature in their starting lineup this weekend.

It would be the ideal environment to ease the pressure of an important moment. At home, with the crowd behind him, facing a struggling side that Liverpool are favoured to beat.

Cody Gakpo played on the left wing but more tucked inside than usual, rather than hugging the touchline as he often does.

There is room for them to play together and constantly interchange positions. Ngumoha himself occupied central zones in his few touches against Forest.

Liverpool’s win and Chelsea’s unexpected draw last weekend left both tied on 45 points, with Manchester United in fourth with 48. It’s a must win for the Reds on their quest for Champions League football next season.
