3. Bukayo Saka (Arsenal)

  • GW6 fixture: Leeds (H)
  • Predicted points: 5.4

Arsenal sit second in the Premier League after losing to Brighton and Hove Albion before the international break. They kickstart the Premier League action with a home game against Leeds United, giving them the opportunity to bounce back.

Bukayo Saka comes into this game as a popular captain contender. The Englishman has already scored three goals and is one of the five best performing midfielders in FPL this season. He takes corners from one side for the Gunners and is their first-choice penalty taker.

Those routes to points make him an appealing option, with six big chances the most of any midfielder in FPL — having had 15 shots. Saka has also created seven chances for his teammates and scored in this fixture last season, a 5-0 win.

2. Erling Haaland (Man City)

  • GW6 fixture: Liverpool (A)
  • Predicted points: 5.5

It’s been a tricky international break for Manchester City. And they’ll be hoping that the football does the talking when they visit Anfield to face Liverpool on Sunday afternoon. It’s first against sixth for this game, with both sides unbeaten and Man City still perfect in the league this season.

Erling Haaland has started the season in reasonable form, with five goals from the opening five games and just the one blank — coming at home to Bournemouth on opening weekend. He has three goals in two on the road, against Crystal Palace and Manchester United.

The Norwegian leads the way among all players for shots (20), shots on target (10), big chances (10) and Expected Goals (4.43) over the opening gameweeks of the season. He has scored one Premier League goal at Anfield, netting the winner in a 2-1 win in February.

1. Bruno Fernandes (Man Utd)

  • GW6 fixture: Tottenham (H)
  • Predicted points: 5.9

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes leads the AI rankings as the best captain pick for Gameweek 6. But he has an unusually low rating of 5.9 predicted points, demonstrating the difficulty in picking a standout option this weekend. Bottom of the league Tottenham Hotspur are the visitors to Old Trafford.

It’s a location where Bruno Fernandes has been in sensational form under Michael Carrick, with his only blank in 11 games coming in the Manchester derby in Gameweek 4. He had produced goal involvements in the previous 10 games, including six double digit hauls.

Four blanks in five is a concern for Fernandes backers but there is promise in his underlying numbers, with 19 shots and 13 chances created. He is dominant on set-pieces, including penalties, which highlights his routes to points.
