Fenerbahce did not make it out of the EuroLeague regular season in 2021/22 but they are doing well to rectify that this year, currently perfect after four matches. One-time champions of the competition, having won the title in 2016/17, Fenerbahce have blown away pretty much every team they have faced so far this year only faltering slightly in their most recent match – though they still won.

The Turkish side opened their EuroLeague campaign with a 74-62 win over Bayern Munich and then beat Maccabi Tel Aviv 86-71, but their most commanding victory game in their third match. In the first round of midweek fixtures Fenerbahce thrashed LDLC ASVEL 84-63, taking the second half alone by 15 points. Last time out Fenerbahce were made to work for their victory, coming from seven points down at half-time to beat Valencia 79-77.

As mentioned, Anadolu Efes are the defending EuroLeague champions and have won the competition in each of the past two years, but they have made a rocky start to the new campaign. In their opening match of the season Anadolu Efes were comfortable in their 72-59 victory over Crvena zvezda who are winless in the competition so far.

But they were unable to build on that opening victory, losing in overtime against AS Monaco despite Will Clyburn scoring 28 points. There was a similar sense of disappointment in their third game of the season as Anadolu Efes lost 92-91 to Valencia, with the game swung by two late three throws from Valencia’s Chris Jones. Anadolu Efes did bounce back last time out though, beating Alba Berlin 78-74 which included a six-point swing in the final quarter.
