Switzerland are through to the round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup following an easy 2-0 win over Algeria.
The Swiss got their campaign off to a sub-standard start, falling to an unexpected 1-1 draw with Qatar in California.
Since then, however, it’s three straight wins for Murat Yakin’s men – one more convincing than the other. There is also the bonus of them seemingly learning from their mistakes and now leaving no margin for disappointments after what happened in the opener.

Switzerland odds to win the World Cup
Switzerland are considered outsiders for the World Cup at 66/1. While they have a solid team with experienced players, they lack the star power and depth of the tournament favourites.
However, their odds do offer value for those backing them as a potential dark horse candidate. And they have shortened from the 80/1 they were priced before securing their spot in the round of 16.

Johan Manzambi is the best-rated Switzerland player with a chance of winning the Golden Boot. But he still has odds of 100/1 despite scoring three goals in four games at the World Cup.
