Everton and Tottenham Hotspur face off in the Premier League on Sunday at 4:30pm, with Craig Pawson appointed as the referee.
Pawson has taken charge of five games in the Premier Leauge this season, and he’s only averaged 2.2 cards per match. It’s the lowest average of any referee to have officiated more than one game. But he is also one of eight referees to send a player off this season.
That red card came in the opening weekend of the season, with Ezri Konsa sent off in the goaless draw between Aston Villa and Newcastle United. Pawson has also refereed this fixture before a 4-0 win for Tottenham in January 2018, with Everton being shown two yellow cards to Spurs’ none.
Tottenham will be looking to recover from defeat last weekend that has seen them drop slightly to sixth, Everton also lost last weekend, sitting 12th.

Craig Pawson’s Tottenham record
Pawson oversaw his first Tottenham game in February 2014, a 1-0 defeat to Norwich City. Including that match, he has refereed Tottenham 35 times in total, with Spurs winning 17 and drawing 14. Pawson refereed Tottenham four times last season, most recently a 1-0 defeat to Chelsea in April, which saw five of Ange Postecoglou’s players booked. Chelsea were also shown five yellow cards in that match, with it being an unsurprisingly fiery affair.

What happened when Craig Pawson last refereed Tottenham?
As mentioned, Pawson’s most recent Tottenham game was their 1-0 away defeat to Chelsea last season with 10 cards shown in total. But only three of the cards were given for fouls. On Tottenham’s side, Pape Sarr and Djed Spence were both booked for fouls, marked as a reckless offence and tactical foul, respectively.
