It’s been just shy of 30 years since the last Newcastle player won a Premier League Golden Boot. Alan Shearer took home the prize in 1996/97, scoring 25 goals in 31 games. He followed up Andrew Cole’s achievement from two seasons prior, when scoring 34 goals in 40 matches for the Magpies.
Alexander Isak has been Newcastle’s best bet in recent years, finishing second to Mohamed Salah in the top scorer race during the 2024/25 campaign. The Swede then moved to Liverpool last summer.
