Bottom of the Premier League and still without a win, Tottenham host a Coventry side arriving on the back of two straight victories, with kick-off at 8pm on Monday.
Anthony Eadson’s Tottenham vs Coventry predictions, best bets and score prediction are below, ahead of Monday night’s meeting at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Premium Tips
Anthony Eadson has been through the Tottenham vs Coventry odds and landed on two selections for Monday night.
| Premium Tip | Odds | Why we’re backing it |
|---|---|---|
| Dominic Solanke to score anytime | 29/20 (Ladbrokes) | Tottenham have created plenty without punishing anyone, running up 6.97 expected goals and 13 big chances in their six games yet scoring only three times. That profile should start to correct against a Coventry defence that has already shipped 11 goals, including five at home to Brighton, and kept just one clean sheet. Solanke leads the line and struck late in the 1-1 draw at Manchester United last time out, so the first-choice striker can end the drought at 29/20. |
| Milan van Ewijk to be carded | 17/4 (Spreadex) | Coventry sit deep and chase the game on their travels, where they have managed just one goal in three away trips, and that invites fouls out wide. Van Ewijk has already picked up two bookings this season and started at right-back in the 4-1 win over Newcastle, so he is a near certainty to begin here. He faces a direct test against Tottenham’s quick left side, and referees are quick to protect flying wingers in one-sided spells of pressure. At 17/4, the full-back makes plenty of appeal in the bookings market. |

How Tottenham Hotspur go into the game
Tottenham have made a wretched start, sitting bottom of the table with three points from six games and still chasing a first win under manager Roberto De Zerbi. Three draws and three defeats tell one story, but the underlying numbers are kinder: few sides have created as freely for so little reward, with 6.97 expected goals returning just three actual ones.
They did at least grind out a 1-1 draw at Manchester United last time out, Solanke equalising late, and the chances keep coming even if the goals have dried up. The real worry is at home, where Tottenham have taken only one point from a possible nine: a 0-0 against Everton is the lone positive alongside defeats to Aston Villa (3-2) and Newcastle (2-0).
How Coventry City go into the game
Coventry arrive in form, with Frank Lampard‘s side winning their last two: a 4-1 rout of Newcastle and a 1-0 success at Nottingham Forest. That run has lifted them to 16th on six points and ended a run of four straight defeats that included a 5-0 home loss to Brighton.
The caveat for backers is the travelling record. Coventry have scored just once in three away games this season, and four of their five goals have come at home. They lost 1-0 at Manchester City and have failed to find the net in four of their six matches, so the goals have not always flowed.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Coventry City head-to-head
| Date | Home | Score | Away |
|---|---|---|---|
| 18/09/24 | Coventry | 1-2 | Tottenham |
These sides have rarely crossed paths in recent seasons, with Coventry long established in the Championship. Their most recent meeting came in the League Cup in September 2024, when Tottenham won 2-1 away.

| Our Prediction | Odds & Bookmaker | Confidence | Why We’re Backing It |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dominic Solanke to score anytime | 29/20 (Ladbrokes) | ⭐⭐⭐ | Struck late at Old Trafford last time out. |
| Both teams to score – No | 6/5 (Sky Bet) | ⭐⭐⭐ | Coventry drew a blank in both away defeats and have failed to score in four of six games. |
| Milan van Ewijk to be carded | 17/4 (Spreadex) | ⭐⭐ | Two bookings already this season. |
| Tottenham to win 1-0 | 17/2 (bet365) | ⭐⭐ | A side with three goals in six games rarely runs riot, even against a leaky defence. |
Tottenham Hotspur vs Coventry City score prediction
Everything points to a tight, low-scoring night. Tottenham should finally have enough for a Coventry side that struggles to score away from home, but on current evidence this looks a grind rather than a romp. We will side with a narrow home win to nil. Score prediction: Tottenham 1-0 Coventry.
