Spain Women vs Belgium Women prediction, stats, tips & team news

Spain Women will continue their quest for Women’s Euro 2025 glory when they face Belgium Women at Arena Thun on Monday 7th July at 5pm (UK time). Spain are favourites to win the tournament and are expected to top Group B. Belgium could be in a good position with a positive result in their first game. This match will be broadcast live in the UK on ITV.

Spain to win & Over 4.5 Goals (17/20 with Paddy Power)

Spain put in a sensational performance as they brushed aside Portugal 5-0 on Thursday evening. That’s now nine of their last ten outings in which Spain have come out victorious, with eight of those featuring at least four goals. Belgium face an uphill task against a team with the quality of Spain and looking back at their matches this calendar year, they have been beaten 5-0 and 6-1 by England, along with a 5-0 hammering from France in June.

Esther Gonzalez to score 2 or more goals (16/5 with Paddy Power)

Esther Gonzalez put in an excellent performance in Spain’s opener against Portugal. The 32-year-old who plays her club football for Gotham FC opened the scoring after just two minutes, and then went on to bag a brace with another goal just two minutes before half-time. Since making her international debut back in 2018, Gonzalez averages a goal every 71 minutes, having notched 27 goals in total. Belgium could be in for a long evening against a side of this quality, and backing Gonzalez to score two or more goals looks a solid proposition at 16/5 with Paddy Power.

How both teams go into Spain vs Belgium

Spain are the favourites to win the Euros, and they got off to a winning start against Portugal with an excellent 5-0 victory. So La Roja will likely be looking at this game to seal their spot in the quarter-finals.

With Uefa Nations League and World Cup successes under their belts, the Women’s European Championship is the next step on Spain’s quest for world domination. Three years ago they were knocked out of the Euros at the quarter-finals stage. But they had their build up to the tournament impacted by injury.

Belgium will come into this game knowing their knockout-stage qualification could go either way. They faced Italy in their opening game, but were beaten 1-0 thanks to a goal from Arianna Carusso. That defeat means Belgium now need a positive result against Spain to boost their quarter-final chances. If they fail to win, this could be their last chance at qualification.

Belgium did make it to the quarter-finals three years ago, having taken four points from their three group games. So they will dream.

Spain vs Belgium head-to-head

Spain and Belgium have faced off 18 times across all competitions, with La Roja winning 13 times. They met in qualifying for Euro 2025 and in the Nations League earlier this year. Spain won all four games.
