It’s Gameweek Two of the Champions League, with Liverpool and Bologna set to meet at Anfield on Wednesday evening.

The League Phase clash will kick off at 8pm (BST), with the match live to watch on TNT Sport 2 for viewers in the UK.

Liverpool vs Bologna predicted lineups

Liverpool (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Mac Allister, Gravenberch, Szoboszlai; Salah, Nunez, Chiesa.

Bologna (4-3-3): Skorupski; Posch, Beukema, Lucumi, Lykogiannis; Fabbian, Freuler, Moro; Ndoye, Castro, Orsolini.

Slot eyes Anfield Euro success for in-form Reds

Arne Slot’s first Premier League home match ended with a win over Brentford and he will be hoping for a repeat in his opening European match at Anfield.

Slot is looking to become the first Reds manager to oversee eight wins in his nine opening matches in charge.

Since the Dutchman replaced Jurgen Klopp, the Reds have suffered just one defeat and following that Premier League loss – at home to Nottingham Forest – the goals have been flowing.

They have found the net 13 times in their last four matches in all competitions, which included three in their Week One win at AC Milan.

Bologna are playing in the Champions League for the first time in their history and started their campaign with a 0-0 draw at home to Shakhtar Donetsk.

The Italian outfit have only lost one of their opening seven games, but they have also only won once – with five draws so far for Vincenzo Italiano’s men.

That run has seen them slip into the bottom half of the Serie A table, despite being unbeaten in their last five matches in all competitions.

Liverpool vs Bologna team news

Having returned in the win over Wolves following a hamstring problem, Alisson is expected to keep his place between the posts for Liverpool, on what will be his 32nd birthday.

The hosts are still without Harvey Elliott, with the Reds midfielder continuing his recovery from a broken foot.

Federico Chiesa is pushing for a start against his fellow countrymen, with the Italy international having scored for Juventus against Bologna last season.

If Diogo Jota is selected, it will be his 100th start for the club, while Mohamed Salah will look to become the first Liverpool player to score in five consecutive Champions League matches.

The visitors are without ACL injury victims Nicolo Cambiaghi and Lewis Ferguson, but midfielder Tommaso Pobega could return after his knee injury.

Santiago Castro has scored three goals in the last four matches and is expected to keep his place in the starting XI, with Dutchman Thijs Dallinga waiting in the wings.

Jhon Lucumi was sent off in Bologna’s draw with Atalanta on Saturday, but the centre-back is available to play in this European fixture.
