Liverpool odds to win the Premier League: Prediction, best players & stats
Liverpool entered the 2024-25 Premier League season under new manager, and it’s going swimmingly.
The Reds look to be running away with it at the top of the table, six points clear with a game in hand on the teams below them. Arne Slot’s men have dropped points in just five of their 19 Premier League games, with 14 wins.
As a result, Liverpool are odds-on favourites to win the Premier League this season, with an implied probability of 80% per BetMGM‘s odds. If Liverpool were to win the league, he’d be the first to do so in his first season as a Premier League manager since Antonio Conte in 2016-17.

Liverpool transfer window business
Liverpool had a really quiet summer transfer window, with Federico Chiesa and Giorgi Mamardashvili the only arrivals. But Mamardashvili hasn’t linked up with his new club yet, remaining at Valencia on loan for the season. Liverpool did also say goodbye to the likes of Joel Matip, Fabio Carvalho, Thiago Alcantara, Adrian and Sepp van den Berg. They’ve also had a departure in January, with Marcelo Pitaluga returning to Fluminese on a permanent basis.
Who are Liverpool’s most important players?
Liverpool’s top Premier League Golden Boot contender: Mohamed Salah
Mohamed Salah is the best player in the Premier League right now, never mind Liverpool’s best player. He leads the Premier League Golden Boot race with 18 goals in 19 games and doesn’t look like stopping. The Egyptian has been helped by the fact that he’s scored five penalties, the most in the Premier League this season. But that shouldn’t count against his season.
Salah sits third for shots (74) and second for shots on target (39), with only Erling Haaland having more of the latter. But Salah does lead for big chances scored at 14, which is more than all but one player has scored outright in the Premier League this season. Liverpool will be hoping they can tie Salah down on a new deal, with his current contract up in the summer.
Liverpool’s primary playmaker: Mohamed Salah
Salah isn’t just Liverpool’s top scorer. He’s their best creator too. And the best creator in the Premier League when it comes to assists, leading the Playmaker Award charts on 13. Salah sits three assists clear of any other player in the Premier League, with Bukayo Saka the only other on double figures.
Salah also sits clear of any other Liverpool player for chances created on 38, though he’s eighth in the Premier League as a whole in that regard. But Salah does sit third for big chances created with 15, and all 13 of his assists have come during open play. The Egyptian sits in the top five in the Premier League for Expected Assists of 4.55, while he’s top for open-play xA at 4.54. He’s a threat on both fronts.
Liverpool’s card magnet & top tackler: Alexis Mac Allister
Alexis Mac Allister has been as combative as ever for Liverpool this season. The Argentine midfielder has been utilised in the box-to-box role, doing a lot of running while Ryan Gravenberch sits just in front of the defence. And getting up and down the pitch has Mac Allister with 54 tackles, more than any other Liverpool player in the Premier League.
But he’s not quite mastered the art of the tackle, also sitting top for Liverpool with 32 fouls. Of course, some of these fouls have been tactical, which are of growing importance. Mac Allister also sits joint-top for yellow cards at Liverpool, with five so far this season. He’s everywhere in the midfield.
Liverpool’s rising star: Conor Bradley
There are currently doubts surrounding the future of Trent Alexander-Arnold, but some Liverpool fans aren’t overly scared. And that’s not anything against Alexander-Arnold, who has been largely fantastic this season. It’s because they have Conor Bradley waiting in the wings. The Northern Irishman only turned 21 in the summer but plays like a right-back well beyond his years. Already this season he has a big performance against Real Madrid in the Champions League under his belt, helping to keep Kylian Mbappe quiet.
Liverpool’s set-piece specialists:
- Penalties: Mohamed Salah
- Free-kicks: Trent Alexander-Arnold
- Corners: Trent Alexander-Arnold + Andy Robertson

Liverpool 2024/25 player ratings*
- GK: Alisson – 57% – Alisson has had to deal with injuries this season, but he has still managed to keep four clean sheets in the Premier League.
- RB: Trent Alexander-Arnold – 77% – Alexander-Arnold is the highest-performing right-back in the Premier League, statistically speaking. He continues to show incredible quality on the ball and has upped his defensive game.
- CB: Ibrahima Konate – 71% – He suffered a bit with injury, but Konate looks back in a huge boost for Liverpool. The Frenchman has won an impressive 83.33% of his aerial duels in the Premier League this season.
- CB: Virgil van Dijk – 78% – No one has a higher Squawka Score among centre-backs than Van Dijk, who remains one of the best in the business. He’s won 65.22% of his ground duels.
- LB: Andy Robertson – 67% – Robertson hasn’t been as impressive as his full-back partner, but his numbers are still high. The Scot has averaged 5.65 passes into the final third completed per 90.
- DM: Ryan Gravenberch – 76% – Gravenberch has been a revelation this season and is the Premier League’s top No.6 right now both statistically and, probably, in reality.
- DM: Alexis Mac Allister – 68% – The emergence of Gravenberch has allowed Mac Allister to thrive in a box-to-box role. He’s won 2.24 tackles per 90 minutes in the Premier League this season.
- AM: Dominik Szoboszlai – 57% – He continues to be a little inconsistent, but he isn’t helped by the fact that his role keeps changing. Offensively, Szoboszlai has created 0.48 big chances per 90.
- FWD: Mohamed Salah – 84% – Salah already has 31 direct goal involvements to his name, with more goals and more assists than any other player in the Premier League this season.
- FWD: Cody Gakpo – 78% – He’s been a reliable man for slot, averaging 0.55 goals per 90 minutes, whether played through the middle or on the left.
- FWD: Darwin Nunez – 58% – Nunez is struggling a bit this season with 0.24 goals per 90 and 0.29 non-penalty xG.
After starting with a 4-3-3, Slot has Liverpool playing a 4-2-3-1 which allows Szoboszlai to get further up the pitch. This means there’s a double pivot of Mac Allister and Gravenberch, with the former getting up and down the pitch. It’s no surprise that the focal point of the attack is Salah, with the starting striker dropping slightly deeper. But it’s a fluid attack.
