Bayern Munich are looking to win another trophy this summer at the 2025 Fifa Club World Cup.

The German side have already lifted the Bundesliga title, the first trophy under Vincent Kompany’s stewardship. Now they’re hoping to win the Club World Cup for the third time.

Bayern first won the trophy in 2013, beating Moroccan side Raja CA in the final in Morocco. Seven years later, they lifted the trophy again, this time beating Tigres UANL in Qatar.

Kompany’s side booked their spot in the 2025 tournament as one of the best-ranked Uefa teams by the four-year ranking, owing to good performances even without winning the Champions League.

Bayern Munich had an interesting group to contest in the United States, including a matchup against fellow European side Benfica. Bayern also took on Argentine giants Boca Juniors, and Auckland City.

Things continued to go the way of Bayern, who scored three late goals to ensure a 10-0 victory and set up their Group C campaign with the perfect start.

Bayern continued their perfect start to the Club World Cup with a hard-fought victory over Boca Juniors. This was arguably the highlight game of the group, with fans wanting to see Bayern test themselves against the famous Argentinian side. Goals from Harry Kane and Michael Olise did the job, either side of Miguel Merentiel’s equaliser. It sealed Bayern’s spot in the last-16, though they still need to fight to finish first in the group.

The big battle of the group was saved for last, and it was a matchup to decide the Group C winner. Bayern had never lost against Benfica in their 13 previous meetings, but there’s a first time for everything.
