Liverpool and Norwich City tussle in an all-Premier League fifth round affair in the FA Cup on Wednesday night (8.15pm kick-off, UK time).

The Reds will still be celebrating after lifting the League Cup at the weekend at the expense of Chelsea in what proved to be one of the most drama-fuelled 0-0s in football, with ‘penalty-save specialist’ Kepa tactically brought on in extra time for the shootout, before failing to save a single spot-kick and missing his to ensure the trophy went home with Jurgen Klopp’s men.

The German has further embellished his Anfield legacy with that triumph, his first domestic cup win as Liverpool manager, and while he will no doubt be looking to usurp Manchester City in a very close Premier League title race, as well as causing further noise in the Champions League knockouts, a run in the FA Cup is still on the agenda, with relegation-threatened Norwich looking to pause their top-flight perils — at least for one game.

Liverpool team news vs Norwich City: Diogo Jota set to start?

Diogo Jota returned from from an ankle injury to make the bench for Sunday’s Wembley showpiece, having missed the previous two Premier League games. Klopp may be tempted to give him a run out just to get some minutes back under his belt and hand a rest to some of Sunday’s stars.

Elsewhere, Thiago Alcantara was seen in tears after sustaining a knock in the warm-up to the League Cup final, which cost him a place in the starting line-up. He now faces a spell on the sidelines, joining Roberto Firmino, who remains out of action with a muscle agitation.

Fringe players like Takumi Minamino, Kostas Tsimikas, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Divock Origi could all be handed a starting berth in midweek, as Klopp looks to juggle his squad and handle the congest schedule, with James Milner possibly coming into the side as well.

The veteran midfielder recently hit headlines after revealing his all-time best teammate XI to FourFourTwo. Four current Liverpool players made the cut, including Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Roberto Firmino, but there was no room for Sadio Mane or Mohamed Salah.

James Milner’s all-time teammates XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Woodgate, Van Dijk, Cole; Lampard, Gerrard, Silva; Firmino, Shearer, Aguero.
