Premium Tips
Hearts’ leading marksman and Falkirk’s five-goal striker both look worth backing at Tynecastle.
| Premium Tip | Odds | Why we’re backing it |
|---|---|---|
| Claudio Braga to score anytime | 5/4 (Sky Bet) | Claudio Braga has started all 11 of Hearts’ league games and shares the club lead with five goals. Moreover, he has struck in three of their last four league outings, against St Mirren, Motherwell and Rangers. Only Celtic kept him quiet in that spell. Hearts have scored in every league game this season, netting 15 times in five home matches. Braga has also fired 43 shots, the most of anyone on either side. With Calvin Miller out injured, more of the goal threat falls on the Portuguese forward. |
| Jacob Murrell to score anytime | 11/4 (bet365) | Jacob Murrell is Falkirk’s top scorer with five league goals in only 710 minutes. That works out at a goal roughly every 142 minutes. Furthermore, 14 of his 30 shots have hit the target, a strong ratio for a lone striker. He scored twice at Easter Road and again against Kilmarnock during Falkirk’s four-game winning run. Hearts, meanwhile, have conceded in eight of their 11 league games. bet365’s 11/4 is the standout price, with most rivals offering 21/10 or shorter. |

How Hearts go into the game
Sitting third on 20 points, Hearts are two points ahead of Falkirk with a game in hand. Their trip to Dundee United on 31 October was postponed. In their last four league games, they beat St Mirren 5-0, lost 7-1 at Celtic, won 2-0 at Motherwell and drew 2-2 with Rangers.
Tynecastle has been a fortress so far. Hearts are unbeaten in five home league games, winning four and scoring 15 goals. However, they have conceded in eight of their 11 league matches overall. They also lost 3-1 at Thun in the Conference League on Thursday, so fatigue could be a factor.
Claudio Braga and Calvin Miller share the scoring lead with five goals each. Unfortunately, Miller has a knee injury and Tomas Magnusson is out with concussion. Craig Halkett, Harry Milne, Oisin McEntee, Blair Spittal, Tom Renaud, Ageu, Rogers Mato and Christian Borchgrevink were also missing for the Thun trip.
How Falkirk go into the game
Falkirk arrive fourth on 18 points and in the form of their season. They have won four league games in a row, beating Hibernian 2-1, Kilmarnock 3-0, Aberdeen 1-0 and Celtic 2-0. Last time out, Ethan Ross and Scott Tanser scored in that famous win over the leaders.
As a result, John McGlynn’s side have kept three straight clean sheets. Scott Bain has played every minute in goal. Away from home, Falkirk have won two, drawn three and lost one, conceding only five goals in six games. They also beat Hearts 2-1 at home in September, their only win over the Jambos in the last five meetings.
Jacob Murrell leads their scoring with five league goals, while Ryan Strain has five assists. Aodhan Doherty, Joseph Gardner, Ethan Laidlaw, Keelan Adams and Aidan Nesbitt are injured. Meanwhile, Leon McCann was a doubt before the Celtic game. However, goals have not always come easily. Falkirk have scored just 15 times in 12 league games.
