Our PredictionOdds & BookmakerConfidenceWhy We’re Backing It
Manchester City to Win & under 3.5 goals 11/8 @ BOYLESports
(42.1%)
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐After their defeat in the Arctic Circle to Bodo on Tuesday, Manchester City have now only won two of their last seven across all formats. However, a home game to Wolves provides a good opportunity to get back to winning ways.  City are unbeaten in their last 30 Premier League games against sides starting the day bottom of the table (W24 D6). Wolves have been much improved of late and are unbeaten four league matches. They will prove stubborn to break down, and as a result, we see this as a relatively low-scoring win for City. The hosts are just 1/5 in the match result market and taking them to win and under 3.5 goals looks much more palatable at 11/8.
Antonie Semenyo First Goalscorer6/1 @ BOYLESports
(14.3%)
⭐⭐⭐⭐With Erling Haaland only scoring in one of his last eight starts for Manchester City, there could be value in looking at alternatives in the first goalscorer market. Antonie Semenyo catches the eye at 6/1, with the former Bournemouth man hungry for his first league goal for his new employers. Semenyo has been involved in 14 goals in his last 16 home appearances in all competitions (10 goals, 4 assists), scoring and assisting a goal in his only game for Man City at the Etihad Stadium so far.

How both teams go into Man City vs Wolves

Manchester City endured another difficult night as a stretched but still talented squad slumped to a 3 1 Champions League defeat away to Bodo Glimt. Caught off guard in Norway, the loss leaves City facing pressure next week as they try to avoid slipping into the playoff places. The frustration has been compounded by recent domestic struggles, including a deserved 2 0 Premier League defeat to Manchester United that has stretched their winless league run to four matches and allowed Arsenal to open a seven-point lead at the top.

In response to the European setback, senior players including Erling Haaland and Rodri have raised around ten thousand pounds to reimburse travelling supporters, calling it the least they could do after such a poor display. While Pep Guardiola has admitted things feel fragile right now, there are reasons for confidence ahead of Wolves at the weekend. City have dominated this fixture in recent years and boast a formidable record against teams starting the day at the bottom of the table, particularly at home, where their recent results have been overwhelming.

Wolves looked close to relegation not long ago and that threat has not disappeared, but results in 2026 have at least offered some encouragement. They are unbeaten in their last four Premier League matches, picking up six points from a possible twelve. That is double the return they managed across their previous 22 games combined, with recent draws against Everton, Manchester United and Newcastle following an impressive 3 0 win over West Ham.

Despite that upturn, the task ahead remains daunting. Wolves are still rooted to the bottom of the table, 14 points from safety with 16 games to play, and several tough fixtures looming. Goals continue to be a major concern, with just 16 scored all season, the lowest total in the league. History also offers little comfort ahead of the trip to Manchester City, as Wolves have rarely troubled the champions in recent years and have not won at the Etihad since 2019.

Man City team news

John Stones, Josko Gvardiol, Mateo Kovacic, Ruben Dias and Oscar Bobb are all out. Nico Gonzalez and Matheus Nunes will be assessed before kick-off.

Wolves team news

Jean-Ricner Bellegarde and Toti are the only missing players for the visitors.

City are second in the table, 35 points clear of bottom-placed Wolves, reflecting a chasm in quality and recent form. City’s win percentage sits at 59%, while Wolves have just a single win all season (5% win rate).

Head-to-Head

Last 6 Meetings

Manchester City have dominated this fixture, winning five of the last six meetings with Wolves in all competitions, scoring 15 and conceding just 5 in those games.

Conclusion: Will City Power Past Wolves Again?

Manchester City’s superior quality in attack and defence can overcome Wolves here. The visitors have impressed lately and can prove stubborn and hard to break down. City look too short at just 1/5 in the match result market, so take the 11/8 for the hosts to win and under 3.5 goals to be scored.
