Incredible performances from goalkeeper Vozinha and Irish-born centre-back Pico saw the tiny African nation earn a shock draw and even the introduction of Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams couldn’t force a breakthrough.
The result doesn’t change the odds too much. Cape Verde are priced at 1500/1 to win the tournament – but it does give them a great chance of progressing to the knock-out stages.
