The 2025 Women’s European Championship is nearing conclusion, with just the final to come.
Women’s Euro 2025 outright odds
Switzerland are the hosts of this summer’s tournament, the 14th edition of the Women’s European Championship, as the game continues to grow. There have been five different winners of the Women’s Euros, with Germany leading the way on eight titles — more than any of the other four nations combined. Norway are the only other team to lift the trophy more than once.
England are the defending champions, having beaten Germany 2-1 after extra-time in the final at Wembley in 2022. Sarina Wiegman’s side will be looking to become just the second nation to successfully defend the European crown after Germany. Can they do it?
Women’s Euro 2025 favourites
England
As mentioned, England are the defending champions. But this isn’t the same side that lifted the trophy in 2022. Although the Lionesses are still one of the best, they are certainly vulnerable, and more teams are working out how to stop them. That has been shown with signs of struggle in Switzerland.
The Lionesses opened the defence of their crown with defeat to France and their spot in the tournament was already in doubt. They bounced back to thrash the Netherlands and Wales to seal second in the group. England have been on the verge of exiting in both of their knockout stage matches. The Lionesses had to come from 2-0 down to seal a late draw against Sweden, eventually advancing on penalties. Their comeback against Italy was even later, with Michelle Agyemang scoring in the 95th minute to take the game to extra time. England won the game late in extra time, avoiding a second penalty shootout.

Spain
Spain are the defending world champions and the best team on the planet right now. So it’s not surprise to see them favourites for the final. Odds-on too. There is an argument to be made that Spain would have won Euro 2022 had Alexia Putellas and Jenni Hermoso not suffered injuries before the tournament, ruling them out.
Spain have been strong at the Women’s Euros, winning all three of their group stage matches. They scored 14 goals and conceded three against Italy, Belgium and Portugal. Spain haven’t conceded in the knockout stages, though they have been made to work hard for their wins. They needed two second-half goals to knockout out resilient hosts Switzerland, including another excellent strike from Claudia Pina. And Spain’s semi-final against Germany went to extra time before Aitana Bonmati struck in the 113th minute to seal La Roja‘s spot in the final.
